Frostmourne Appearance

There is no logical reason for us not to get the frostmourne appearance anymore.
It being too powerful is a joke because a) it doesn’t have to be the same damned sword, just a lookalike for the sake of transmog; that being an in-lore thing. and b) we got the weapon that destroyed it, and even got to customize it.
It being not of this world is also not applicable anymore because the person who forged it is making us gear in this expansion anyway.
It having been destroyed doesn’t matter because we know what it looked like, also refer above.
2H frost is coming back, this is literally the perfect time for this to happen and theres no reasoning behind keeping this from players anymore. let the DK’s have the sword they’ve been begging for since wotlk why not?

It’s simply too epic to put in the game and too unique. I don’t want every goon running around with it. Loses its mystique.

Bummer two handed frost wasn’t a thing during legion then maybe we would of gotten something like it.

there are 548 items with replica in their name on wowhead, and both out of and in lore reasons for it to occur, torghast is already rewarding cosmetics and both darkmoon faire and heirloom items are replica versions of items that are not attainable by players. why exactly do you feel that adding frostmourne along with everything else we already have would suddenly ruin things?

I think it’s a rogue but yea there is a female gnome with that name as well.

i’m certain that it was something that was meant to happen, until they decided that DKs having all 2H weps as their artifacts didn’t feel unique enough. the animation for forging the twin blades even looks like it was recycled from reforming frostmourne properly

Oh gotcha. The question is, who was the original and who was the imposter grummle? I shall claim originality.

Maybe add the appearance as a drop from the Lich King for death knights only.
Would be cool.

I had a whole arguement about who was the original leelinn, as I had been doing a bit of poking around and found that there was another leelinn.

something similar to how DH get warglaives of azzinoth with timewalking requirements would be very fitting

perhaps something along the lines of: having the shadowmourne quest chain completed on a death knight (and perhaps the frost artifact chain) the runecarver could offer a unique quest, where upon showing him shadowmourne would spark his memory, and would offer to either reforge shadowmourne into, or forge an entirely new frostmourne replica blade for you.

If they were to implement a Frostmourne replica, I think it would have to an epic scale adventure to span multiple classes with scalable content to add difficulty to it. Something to the tune of walking the path of Arthas. Starting with a Paladin and having a carryover mechanic to DK once you have reached a certain point. What ever it would be, it should be very time consuming with a moderate to high degree of difficulty. And then it should be slightly different such as lacking the runes or some other feature.
The reason I say this is we are talking about Frostmourne. It is probably the most iconic weapon in the game with a story that is STILL unfinished. Giving it the Ashbringer treatment would be in awful taste that would be akin to selling your soul for a couple bucks. That said, I do not think giving it to players in any form is a good idea.
