Frostfire Hero Spec Horribly Bugged Still

Frostfire is still bugged with no communication about fixes coming.

This makes the spec feel horrible to play as so many interactions are not working. Not seeing any fixes for these issues for Frostfire is disheartening. Especially since these bugs have been here for a while now. It was the most fun spec I played on the beta.

Current Known issues:

Frostfire Fire Mage:

  • Frostfire Bolt does not trigger or consume Firefall.
  • Frostfire Bolt does not trigger the cooldown reduction from Unleashed Inferno, From the Ashes, and Kindling.
  • Frostfire Bolt does not trigger on-hit effects like Frostfire Infusion, Frostfire Empowerment, Overflowing energy, and presumably on-hit effects for gear.
  • Frostfire Empowerment is removed on cast as well as on hit.
  • The Frostfire Empowerment damage and crit chance effects do not work unless you have two stacks of the buff.

Frostfire frost mage:

  • Frostfire Bolt triggers an additional Bone Chilling stack on the cast (even failed ones)

  • Frostfire Bolt cleave doesn’t trigger Bone Chilling Frostfire Bolt triggers an additional Fire Mastery stack on hit

  • Frostfire Bolt cleave animation is broken; damage is dealt to different targets

  • Frostfire Bolt doesn’t trigger most on-hit effects (Overflowing Energy, Frostfire Infusion, Frostfire Empowerment, presumably also on-hit gear effects)

  • Frostfire Empowerment can affect multiple Frostfire Bolts with spell queueing

  • Frostfire Empowerment buff is removed on cast as well as on hit

  • Frostfire Empowerment damage and crit chance effects do not work unless you have 2 stacks of the buff

  • Frostfire Empowerment explosion can trigger from the wrong Frostfire Bolt projectile

Fire mage altogether needs some love. The buffs coming tomorrow are not nearly enough to make it on par with Arcane.
No AoE damage whatsoever, ST is good for cooldown windows but that is about it.
These fixes may help a viable FFB build from taking form.

Still no changes to any of these in the latest patch, no idea how they’re just letting a spec be this bugged. Being undertuned sucks enough, but being undertuned while your hero spec doesn’t work properly sucks even more.

Them giving it those buffs, while it doesn’t do much, mean’s its at least on their radar. I imagine the hero talents functioning with main spec’s talents properly would probably help get more realistic numbers before they start tuning it’s abilities.

Unless they’re still trying to figure out how to fix it, which is concerning for other reasons…

The sims don’t have the bugs in them.

Frostfire is WELL behind all other mage specs. It needs way more love to bring actual options instead of that dumb feeling of needing to play another spec because the one you love underperforms by too much.

Combustion nerf and no buffs ???
Maybe they do some buffs before 11.0.5? or fixes?

  • Fire

    • Majesty of the Phoenix has been updated – Casting Phoenix Flames causes your next Flamestrike to have its critical strike chance increased by 20% and critical strike damage increased by 20%. Stacks up to 3 times.

    • Heat Shimmer can once again trigger while casting Scorch.

    • Heat Shimmer is no longer consumed when it triggers during a Scorch cast.

    • Fuel the Fire is now shown in the spellbook.

    • Fixed an issue that prevented Pyromaniac from being able to trigger Hyperthermia.

    • An issue causing Controlled Destruction to increase Ignite damage by an additional 0.5% per stack has been resolved.
