Im probably the only one, but im not enjoying Frostfire fire mage at all. It feels clunky to me. Anyone else feel this way. I think I’ll stick to sunfury
My issue with frostfire mage is meteor takes 10 minutes to hit the ground. Outside of that i am a big fan of frostfire mage.
Yeah not a fan of the meteor , gonna stick to sunfury
I like it but it’s probably the definition of sensory overload. So many buffs and cooldowns with cdr and procs and debuffs and this and that.
Comet Storm does stupid damage in AoE, almost rivaling Ignite.
Hi, can you explain why do I have 8% mastery but my ignite does 18% of my overall dmg in a single target fight ? The tooltip says ignite does 8% of my ST dps, then it should be 8% of my overall dmg, shouldn’t it ?
Too many meteors, they don’t interact with combustion in a good way.
Meteor and storm for frost should extend the duration of your CD a bit so you don’t lose that GCD you could have used to generate hot streaks instead.
For frost in don’t really mind that too much, but for fire it bothers me quite a bit with how frequent meteor is since you generally wanna use it inside combustion.
Also meteor is too far down the trees why is it a capstone?
Also FF significantly lowers mastery value because none of that stuff interacts with mastery at all.
Come on blizzard, the buffs we’re good but why didn’t you fix this very obvious problem.
The free frostfire bolt procs are great, and I don’t care much for the orb management.
If you find manual casts of meteor clunky, the firefall talent allows you to drop some for free on your target.
Still not too sure which spec will be better for pve, though.
Ignite rolls over and accumulates, so it essentially multiplies into stacks with how many abilities fire mages churn out, making it the main reason fire can get away with having wimpy base damage numbers on core abilities compared to a lot of other specs
Sunfury is SO much easier to play tbh lol. It feels like dumb easy in comparison. The proc management and decision tree (let alone aiming meteor in raid) while trying to do mechanics as FF is way too much. I applaud it being like 4% ahead because you deserve it if you can play that optimally. So busy staring at my weakauras stressed out that I don’t even notice my Fire mage stuff up and/or myself dying…
My SKB is up but I have these procs and this proc that gives me those procs and I feel like I should use those procs before I hit the proc before I hit the SKB proc because it’s going to give me the same proc that gives those procs and where am I again F meteor is up and is that Combust I forgot but it also procs the procs
Exactly how I felt! And I’m always missing meteor on CD because there is so much going on. 4% better damage then SF is just not enough for me to care lmao
Yeah I think it’s def more fun for dungeon content because you always have stuff to send and aren’t as screwed Combusting towards the end of a pack (and all your procs have an AoE component). In raid though it’s just overload lol there’s just no break from it all.
There are several factors at play and your Ignite percentage will never 100% reflect on its overall damage.
- When on Combustion, your crit rating is converted into mastery.
- Hot Streat applies double the Ignite to instant spells.
- Frostfire gets an extra 12% haste and mastery buff.
- Ignite can be spread onto other targets with Fire Blast.
- Not all of your spells interact with Ignite.
- Not all of your spells that do interact with Ignite interact with it the same way; Inflame, Master of Flame, Ashen Feather, Controlled Destruction, Mark of the Firelord talents for example.
- I wouldn’t doubt there are still some bugs pertaining to Ignite somewhere.
