It seems like this is bugged on classic servers. Frost wands aren’t contributing to the number of frost hits to freeze the boss.
In this video from Turalyon EU in 2006 the raid is using nothing but frost wands on Viscidus and he freezes.
Well not “nothing but frost wands” But still enough evidence in the video that supports the claim.
I can confirm that frost wands don’t work on retail. Probably because when wands were changed to main hand weapons they just made them reskinned bows. Perhaps something to do with that?
