So with the way runes are now and with our artifact ripped away with only 2 traits that came over.
So I have an idea to have runes not be on the 3 at a time to recharging as soon as you use them. To me it’s less downtime along with Runic emp recharging all runes on cooldown instead of just 1
And I’ve been told this is bad so I’m out of simple ideas
So how would the rest of you go about fixing our downtime
blizzard is already proposing the fix on ptr by buffing runic empowerment and doubling breath of sindragosas chance to proc it.
more RE procs = more runes to fuel your rotation = less downtime.
Yup the ptr has some significant buffs to our regen. It should feel a lot better outside of BOS.
The only problem is that now BOS can fall off super easily so you can’t use HB proc’ s unless you are above 50 RP. It also makes Dragon and Cold Heart maximizing a little annoying.
Try it out on the PTR and leave feedback for them.
I kind of like the downtime. I use it to think about how stupid dual wield frost is, and how I want a 2 hander back, and how I wish my class mount was a wolf and not a horse, and what the inside of my nose smells like.
I didn’t realise they increased the cost of BoS along with the changes until you mentioned this. I recall them mentioning about nerfing it slightly just to keep it in line with the rp generation buffs but didn’t realise the actual changes.
Realistically they added a 1.5% increase to proc Runic Empowerment from BoS (0.5% base line plus 1% for the 50% increased chance it grants), whilst increasing the rp cost to 18/s. So all up for that 18 rp you have a 27% additional chance to proc empowerment, but you are using up 3 extra rp/s.
So every 6s you need to be casting an extra Oblit than you would currently be casting. With 27% increased chance you are looking at 162% additional chance to get empowerment procs during those 6s, which isn’t quite the 2 rune resets you need, most likely just the one.
Seems pretty steep and reliant on luck compared to pre cost increase, because obviously you drain quicker ~5-6s from full.
I can see why you wouldn’t want to weave in any reduced generators or abilities that didn’t grant rp during that time, those GCDs are really valuable.
Even with an Oblit every GCD (without haste) you are gaining 40 rp and losing 54, 45 is more manageable with Runic Attenuation and Frost Fever’s rp generation.
