Of course its asked 500x, but just curious what you all think. I usually play ele shaman or warlock, but in dragonflight I messed with windwalker. Curious on which spec is the best in terms of balance and room for improvement in like medium-ish content.
Never played DK before and gonna main it this xpac for funzies. I am fairly casual and play around keystone master level keys etc, heroic raids.

Frost is getting nerfs atm if that matters to you at all
Dont listen to the majority of people on the DK forums. If you want to play DK then you should just play it in any content that you can and then settle on the one you find fun. Thats really the extent of it.
Frost for me all the way. It has a simple but engaging and satisfying gameplay, and I don’t care for the pet management that unholy has to do.
I would say definitely give both specs a try and see which ones tickles your fancy the best, both are pretty solid and have different play styles.
Deathbringer Frost is feeling pretty nice
Unholy Rider is also pretty good on that “I bring an ARMY” vibe too.
Unholy is kinda in the garbage right now. Frost is in the process of getting nerfed, but it has to get hit super super hard for it to fall off.

Saylan just plain sucks for dps.
And my st with riders on uh maybe hits 500 k, but it’s not doable without all 4horseman out
He averaging 250k to 370k
Sim wise, both specs are viable and pretty close in DPS with a decent variety in hero talents as well. Just remember, you don’t have to limit yourself to the meta spec in 99% of content to be value added.
Ide recommend you play whichever you enjoy the playstyle of more.
I love the way unholy plays but it feels like I have no upper body strength right now.
Obviously having garbage gear is a big factor in this at the moment.
