I will be on a PvE server. So I literally have no reason to level any professions. I could possibly choose to do Skinning while I level, but its not needed to get a lvl 40 mount and the value only shows once you get into skins past lvl 40.
Yeah I see your point. I like to level professions while Im still getting the mats from mobs/nodes in my level range. From what Iām hearing, lots of people are going to be hoarding their mats til the majority hits 60 so they can charge more.
PvE? Well when you decide to roll on the correct server my advice still stands!
In all seriousness though, whatās the reason why anyone would rush to 60 on a PvE server? In my mind, thatās the biggest benefit of rolling on one. You can take your time. Also, leveling professions from scratch is just plain annoying at 60. I would avoid it when possible, if I could.
Just donāt do it more than once or twice during levelling.
I would be on PvP if I had a choice. But the guild I am joining is gonna be rolling PvE since they meet some rare criteria I canāt seem to find from other guilds. Rushing to 60 means being able to access specific content earlier if your guild has goals in mind for it. Professions only slow down that process as you donāt gain any XP for every 2-3 seconds you are spending crafting or gathering. That time can add up significantly. There is also more value you can obtain once you are 60 rather than worrying about the value you can gain as you are leveling.
If someone dings fishing 300 at the speed I intend to level, I really fear for their physical health. That said, I need at least 225 LW by the time I ding 60.
Can I ask why and how long do you think it will take you?
Fishing 1-300 takes almost as long as speed levelling 1-60 itself. Itās also extremely boring and mindless, as well as frustrating. So if someone gets it, they likely havenāt slept in a week.
Or they are the worldās greatest multi-boxer.
Sorry, to clarify: Why do you want to be 225 LW by 60 and how long do you expect it to take you to level to 60?
No idea how someone could multi-box fishing, but sure.
One fishes, the other gets mobs for XP.
Ah, thatās just it, those same people leveling professions side-by-side likely wonāt be the people leveling with a āspeedā mindset, such as myself. Iāll hit 300 fishing before 60, but Iām in no rush to level andā¦

ā¦fishing is a great task to handle during down times at work!
Nightscape Headbands and Thick Leather farming, for gold. Iāll make enough of them to get the rest of the Nightscape items and sell them all to levellers coming behind me.
As for how long, Iām expecting about 3 weeks real time at most, but Iām taking a week off work for the launch.
I didnāt make any assumption. I added it as an additional benefit.
Ahh, planning to play the market and cash in. I donāt remember enough about vanilla to know what market strategies to play. My plan is to just get to 60 relatively quick, gear up a bit for pre-bis, hopefully aoe farm well and then queue up an alt to level at a slower pace.
I may change my mind and rush skinning and 225 LW like I did in Vanilla, if I find Iām short on coin for the 40 mount though.
If you want to be most effective, you could level several characters at once so you can juggle the rested. If you cycle 2-3, rested will probably build up faster than you can spend it, so your XP is never cut on mob kills. If 1 also has a free mount, they can pool their money to whoever needs it.
Thatās part of the plan, as I need to get a mage up to reasonable levels to take my cloth and make sure I have decent bags. Gotta be Runecloth 14s by level 60. But they wonāt be leveled seriously for a bit. Nothing over 35.
Either one. Aoe leveling is way over rated. Kepp in mind you ll be drinking every aoe pull. Youll also be waiting for respawns. Conditions need to be perfect.
Regardless of spec youll be drinking every 2 or 3 mobs if you kill them one by one.
In short it really doesnāt matter.
