I’ve been on the dummy for about an hour and I like the changes so far.
I was unsure of how I feel about Glacial advance but at only a 5sec cd and 30 rp it seems like a good aoe spender that stacks razor ice on all targets which really helps howling blast.
Playing with icy talons + runic attenuation feels smooth, tons of Rp to spam glacial. Running avalanche instead of frozen pulse seems good because of the razor ice stacking on all targets from glacial.
Still running icecap, don’t see a need to pick the other 2.
The only thing I don’t like is the edit: (upcoming loss of frost whelps indignation), it was a cool thing and I loved using it before my sindragosa.
I am Dual wield not 2h, won’t be changing either.
These are my views on the spec, with my spec (2121131) it feels very smooth, never rp or rune starved, constantly spamming aoes, no dead time, I just can’t find anything bad about it.

Ah so Breath of Sindragosa DK has another play-style now?
Blood DK is okay. Unholy DK is fun too but Breath of Sindragosa DK felt a bit boring. Maybe with this rework they could rename it? Frost DK sounds good as they have more icey stuff like Mage now.
I’m just hoping frost can finally switch away from the reliance of breath. Warlock is my favorite class, but death knight is a very close second but I rarely play my DK these days because frost is my favorite spec thematically but I absolutely hate the playstyle of breath. I feel like I’m useless when it’s not up.

I have been on the PTR dummies for about 4 days now. I copied over my DW DK, and also made a 2H Obliterate Version with the same character. Been trying all different talents and specs for 2H. I have to say that 2H frost is so much fun, and the dps is pretty close with my DW.
Breath isn’t meta on live, icecap is with corruption
I use icecap, breath isn’t fun, with decent crit icecap holds it’s ground.
On the Ptr Icecap was buffed to a 4 sec cd reduction on crit compared to lives 3 sec, which is really good.
The amount of forum posts like this are causing the dk sub forum to get really hot and humid.

unfortunatly, when you lose the whelps, icecap spec no longer works, and when you get to level 60 in shadowlands, and you have all the wrong stats, breath becomes the only viable option to do good dps…

Uh take this with a grain of salt until one of the better Frost players chimes in but even with my limited knowledge I don’t think icecap no longer works because you lose whelps. I’m gonna guess its losing Icy Citadelx3 and the huge secondary stat %'s we have right now that are gonna kill it. Also Vinnie mentioned Obliteration working pretty well so might not want to go doom and gloom for Shadowlands yet.

With corruption. Which at this point would be pointless to invest in on a fresh 120 considering SL is more or less right around the corner.
That’s a shame, I don’t like breath and I can’t stand unholy, guess I’ll pass up dk this expansion and stay on my lock, I tried.
I was hoping 3 expansions of breath being the only choice was enough for the developers, guess not.
This has nothing to do with my comment, I said breath isn’t meta. Meta isn’t “not worth to even trying to gear”
