I am no M+ expert but I believe the answer is going to be obliteration. BOS has too long of a cool down to get good value out of it especially in a pug group if tank doesnât chain pull, you wonât be able to get good value. However obliteration you can have nearly half uptime in POF 18s duration 45s cd. Much more forgiving and still being very competitive if not even better than BOS with the decreased rp generation

I believe dw will yield an overall higher dps, especially in sustained fights, but 2H will have very high spikes during pillar windows and fall off much more outside of your cd. I would lean on dw tho because you want to maximize IDT and long winter, that will be most reliable with dw
I was listening to a podcast that Max was running on his Youtube channel with some DK mains, and what I took away from that was that there were 3 viable specs in TWW

DW Oblit
DW BoS
The 2H oblit is going to focus on the big juicy oblit crits like its usual but fails to utilize the talent tree as much as DW oblit does.
DW oblit will utilize the tree better like I said above, but will be more focused on I think he said generating procs of the i think razerice? I forget exactly but I know that it is suppose to be a little more AoE? And a slightly different focus/playstyle while still going oblit spec.
DW BoS is sort of the same but they nerfâd the length of BoS being active somehow and it will be more like 30-90 second BoS windows and less reliant on procs to determine how well the BoS uptime is⌠and more reliant on rotational choices and consistency and timing your CDâs with the BoS uptime to maximize dps during breath.
Out of those I think I remember them saying 2H oblit will likely be the best out of the three but they should all be viable/situational⌠but i could be mistaken on that.
It was a long video so I am leaving big chunks out and i might have described some of their opinions wrong⌠but thatâs what I got from the talk lol
I remember them discussing how they think DKâs should get a raid buff for vampirism/leech and that monks should lose their raid buff for healing increase or something along those lines⌠and that is my one biggest opinion on the state is DKâs is that besides deathgrip there really is no ârequirementâ to have them in raid and that they are pretty much the only class that doesnât have a requirement/incentive currently to bring them.
Both are viable. That being said, dw obliterate with shattered frost is really fun imo.

How often should you be using Soul Reaper as frost? Should you press it on CD or just wait for the execute phase to save runes for oblit?
Feels like old Frost DK to me just without the KM procs that can work on Frost Strike was well as Obliterate. Wouldnt mind having nerves of cold steel, and to remove the auto attack misses.

Based on beta keys though DW oblit is the strongest.
People are not doing giga chad pulls for breath to really perform well.
2h Obliteration+Long Winter, DW Obliteration+Shattering Strikes, and Breath, are all fine. In keys specifically, Iâd always play Obliteration, unless I was playing with a very skilled premade group with a tank on coms. With ideal situations, breath can work, but Oblit requires less tank synergy.
Season 1, its kinda looking like DW Obliteration is gonna be the play. The tier set is going to favor it pretty hard. Right this second in prepatch, 2h Obliteration is crazy good.
Breath is probably the most âskill-basedâ Frost build, since you have manage your burst windows effectively. I have not tried Breath since the patch, but I have heard / read that it is not as dependent on the Breath window anymore.
