yeah with the new runes and final ranks of frostbolt that scale with spell power. the new crit giving fire shield … Causes 17 Fire damage when hit, increases your spell critical strike chance by 5%, and reduces the chance you are critically hit by 5%. Lasts 30 min. that frees up the spell crit rune for boots for instant cast frostfire bolts with brain freeze. followed up by deep freeze balefire bolt with brainfreeze. yeah its gonna be insane

Im curious to see how balefire bolt performs. If not at least to see mages committing sedoku. 
how does gaining 5% crit enable you to use brain freeze? You’re describing it like a trade-off when you can have both. It’s actually a value judgement based on the opportunity cost of using either rune. I want molten armor, AND FFB, AND spell power rune.

yea i would think FFB is just the better option than a higher frostbolt.

That doesn’t make sense. Increased crit CHANCE (Molten Armor) naturally synergizes perfectly with increased crit DAMAGE (Spellpower). One does not replace the other lol. Brain Freeze vs Spellpower on the same slot is still Frost’s biggest downfall.
