Frost mages getting buffed why?

Can’t we have a single season with any other mage spec then frost ?

It’s to Glacial Spike (which is the kind of stuff that should be getting buffed) and an aura 5% I think?

Predictable damage and buffs to abilities and spells that have some counter play is the best. Not this instant damage crap.

Still would love to see a buff to Ray of Frost, at least graphically – thin spaghetti blue ray.

I think blizz shouldn’t have buffed arms. But they should have nerfed more some spec.

Frost been bad for 2 weeks so they get some juicy buff.

Enh shm could be D tier a whole xpac without blizzard doing anything.

But I’m surprised they kept UDK in the S tier. But they killed FDK for only god knows why.

Hmm I wonder if glacial is going to hit for more than 7 mil? Anything over that number to me is unreasonable, even for a casted thing

Sure, but Glacial is pretty easy to deny.

I don’t know man as a melee with no grounding totem, ranged kick, or instant mobility, glacial (particularly with shimmer) is kinda hard to prevent

Can’t you line it or have your partners stop it? I’d imagine you’d treat it like a Destro lock chaos bolt which is spammed far more frequently even

No, that would require me to run away, only cowards run away!

7m will probably be the average during full cds. Depends on how much haste mages are willing to sacrifice for more mastery. Still playing mostly haste I hit a 6m one this week but the average has been about 4.5m

They buffed Arms so even the last Ret kid who can’t handle Ret+BM because its still too complex and challenging to not break traps, can achieve its goal this season with the good old zugzug faceroll.

Someone in the dev team plays Ret, like 100% confirmed!

Idk man I’m hitting only 3 mill spikes atm, in full haste/verse gear and only mastery from my 2 piece. Did u drop more talents to get the spike modifiers ? Cause it seems fine to just play same current build imo and just drop the icicle talent

Pretty ironic coming from the 9 lives cat food can. Play warrior and youll be screaming for warrior buffs. Warrior meta is 20000x better than a paladin/caster meta

Are they even trash? Or is arcane just so strong no one is playing the inferior spec?

Frost mage dam was actually pretty low. They dumpstered frostfire bolt and seem to want people playing glacial spike now. Which honestly I personally think is a healthier direction for Frost compared to having mostly instant cast damage. A lot of people hate glacial spike though but I always loved it.

Gearing for some more mastery will probably be pretty helpful since glacial spike relies on that to do chunky damage. And less haste means polymorphs (and like ring of frost) will be easier to stop too.

Don’t know why they wouldn’t want us casting frost fire bolt…. But ironically our overall will be worse losing all the icicle damage if we start getting stopped on glacial cast :smiling_face_with_tear:

With haste being stacked as high as it was in season 2 absolutely. But with some mastery stacking, alongside the mastery buff Frost got at the start of the season and recent glacial spike buff, I think it will actually feel surprisingly nice.

I still think spellslinger is probably worth playing if you want to go full icicles/ice lance/frozen orb haste stacking spam though.

Interestingly, I’ve always geared for mastery and play arcane and frost. Slower casts, but it just felt fun to me. Nice to see mastery get some love.

Ray of Frost needs an update as well. Losing Time Anomaly where it granted icy veins (thus, 10 stacks of cryo for ray of frost) hurts a bit, since it is buffed by fingers of frost or an icy veins.

More ways to play is nice, not just instant ice lance spam.
