Really liked the buffs to spellfrost / frostfire.
I still think they need some love with increases in proc chance to Fingers of Frost mainly but also potentially brain freeze.
FoF would go a long way for PVE frost.
Ice lance dmg also feels extremely low and potentially an oversight.
Frost has always been my fav spec and was hoping i got to pvp with that instead of arcane but without more attention doubt that happens
My ice lance does like 69 damage. That can’t be right.
I’m a 31 frost mage, but I don’t run a single frost rune. They are just not that great vs other runes.
replacing frostbolt with spellfrost bolt felt good so far at 35.
its 209-243 dmg 87 mana compared to r6 frostbolt 179-196 130 mana.
Lets me put the 5 points of improved frostbolt talents elsewhere since sadly that doesnt effect frostfire / spell frost.
I think both for pve and pvp FoF Proc chance being somewhere between 30-40% would be exactly what they need to feel good both in pvp / pve. Heavily increase shatter uptime on Bosses as well as playing around lances etc.
I think if you buff brainfreeze proc chance too much the effects of chain procs off each other might just be too much.
Frost still dead last in Gnomer despite buffs. WE NEED MORE.
Frostfires dot should apply a chill effect each tick. This would give more chances to proc FoF on single targets.
Even before the frostfire bolt buffs I liked it more in PvE due to it costing less than frostbolt while doing comparable damage. I haven’t done the math but I feel like frostfire is now just strictly better than frostbolt even assuming frostbolt is talented to be .5 sec faster to cast.
In PvP though, relying on a 3-sec cast is tough.
Low key dumbfounded that lava burst dmg at 40 is a 2 second cast 399-514 before SP.
and my lvl 36 mage spellfrost bolt is 2.5 second cast 219-254. Granted lava burst is a CD but with power surge resets the impact of getting that proc compared to a brain freeze proc is night and day.
The buffs def felt good on frost mage as I level and its sooooo close to I think feeling very very good and fluid like the other classes im enjoying in SoD.
I really do think FoF proc rate would be the way to go with a buff to ice lance dmg.
I dont think you can mess with brain freeze proc chance too much without making it very very oppressive in pvp specifically. Chaining Brain freeze procs back to back happens even at 15% chance but without Fingers procs its very underwhelming without the shatter interaction.
Please bump FoF proc chance to 25-35% similar to how ele shams got a bump on overload proc chance from 33% to 50%
