I’m 631 ilvl, frostfire, with sacrbrood+changeling trickets, stat distribution, and talents that mirror the top players. My overall dps at the end of dungeon is usually around 1.2-1.3M, but I see from data that this is below average and don’t really know what I’m doing wrong. My ST is fine as I get close to sims, but I think I’m doing something wrong in AOE.
I don’t log runs and understand it’s hard for people to diagnose specifically, but are there any frostfire frost mages that might be able to offer any tips, perhaps any changes they made while improving their own dps? I read all the popular guides, watched youtube videos, but still don’t know. When I watch frost mage youtube vids doing high keys I will slow the video down to 50% and watch every global, and I don’t see what I’m doing differently.
I play Fire on my mage so I’m of no help, but posting a breakdown of your overall dps in details would probably be beneficial so people can more accurately tell you if something doesn’t look right.
It’s probably not you but the party comp and the tank. A lot of those videos on YouTube’s aren’t pug groups and the tanks takes into account what classes he’s playing with.
If the mobs are moved out of your blizzards often you’re going to lose dps. If you accidentally miss a cone of cold reset due to mobs moving you will miss dps. Etc
Otherwise we would need to see your dps breakdown.
Can’t see your logs so without those details can’t give you any specific advice - however, the usual culprit I’ve seen from frostfire frost mages in m+ is misusing death’s chill. It puts a lot of emphasis on getting those frostbolt damage buff stacks and then utilizing it during your icy veins windows.
You can also try spellslinger, which is a bit more straightforward imo for a m+ build. It focuses more on spamming those frozen orb resets, which is a little more mentally fluid for a lot of people. Especially if you are just doing like lvl 8-12 keys, if you are pushing higher than 12 then that’s a different story.
