Frost mage or bm hunter?

which one would you guys suggest for someone who just wants to have fun and do casual content? i tried fury warr which ppl say its easy but i cant perform well with it, between frost mage and bm hunter which one is easier at pve, and world content

BM for the pet tank which makes life better to kill things or frost mage if you wanna pull a mob of like 5 or so and see how many you can kill before you screw up an get killed…kinda depends what your looking for,

BM hunter. You are a tank and can dps at the same time. keep mend pet in your rotation and you will find very little content you can not solo.

Mages are a lot of fun tho as well. and Portals! but …

BM Hunter isn’t as squishy as Mage and plays itself if you don’t want to think too much and just pick mostly passive talents and put every point possible into anything to do with Barbed Shot.

Then when you decide you’re having fun and want to actually learn the complete spec, (which takes a lot of time and fail), you pick more active talents, (including ones that involve your pet), turn off all of your pet’s auto casts so you can use them on-demand, and learn to wield your pet as your second weapon, personal tank, and extra healer with a Spirit Beast.)

BM is a forgiving spec to play mindlessly/poorly, and very difficult to master (the thinking version), as it offers two completely different play-styles (the harder one most players don’t have the patience for, but it’s the most fun spec in the game and completely mobile. It also helps if you can juggle IRL.)

BM hunter, has like 2 buttons.

I would recommend keeping those on, but do macro them into your rotational buttons as well. Something like

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover, harm, nodead] Barbed Shot
/petattack
/cast Bite
/cast Claw

Etc etc

The main thing is that the default pet movement is too slow, so you can speed it up (and do more damage) by macroing in their attacks in with buttons you’d already be pressing.

Having a comfortable bind for pet freedom and heroism is a good move.

Good luck OP

Do you want to whine about class balance on the forums: BM hunter.

Else: mage.

so mage would be easier to master?

Definitely

My main is Frost mage and I have no trouble doing much of anything when it comes to soloing…just remember to use your escapes and you will love the mage class! GL!

I’ve had both classes for years. I think the hunter is the perfect class for that and the one to start your WoW life. They can solo bigger foes easier. Plus, they got other useful skills like Feign Death, invisibility, a fair self/pet heal.

BM Hunter by far.

It’s the #1 chill solo class and spec.

Absolutely. Especially if you want something simple, and don’t get bored easily.

My biggest problem with all the other classes is having to stand still to cast. Hunter is fully mobile.

BM is not easy as you have to keep frenzy stacks up and you constantly have to control your pet and your hunter.

Most specs only need to control one

Hunter is a lot more sturdy than a mage and has the benefit of the pet to help absorb the threat. Mage takes a fair degree of practise as it involves movement and the proper use of your spellbook. I mean, its a cannon but a frequently fragile one.

Not for AoE it doesn’t.
