Frost mage NEEDS Deep Freeze

Ok, but that legendary doesn’t work for Frost anymore.

Nope, cant be used as frost, and honestly this is not a stun. Dont forget people have infinite tool kits to get out of snares nowadays. Deep Freeze is a MUST to make it viable again. I really dont know why blizzard removed it along with Frost Fire bolt, which was the most beautiful skill all over the game.

For those of you trying to defend mage in pvp please just stop. Mages dont need anything they have been top tier in pvp since day 1. They are literally kings of pvp with rogues regardless of the expansion. Have u guys ever even tried to play an enhanement shaman? Go do that before u ask an S tier pvp God spec to get a stun LMAO. But if its a playstyle combo feeling thing then deep freeze should come with several MASSIVE nerfs to the spec and there is no other way to balance that. What wow needs right now is a buff system from the bottom up, so that all spec can even be played. And I am actually at loss for words to those of you on here who think frost isn’t viable . LOL yeah thats the joke of the century.

It works for frost, it doesn’t get the damage bonus like the other 2 specs get because frost d9esnt need it, it has damage against rooted targets baked in.

The holy trinity of rear end specs, Enhance, Feral and Survival. Enhancement has had it worse all bfa

It’s funny I didn’t really get it until yesterday playing my mage but I knew something felt off in the spec and it really does need deep freeze. Without a stun you’re essentially just standing there as a turret when going range v range. The stun adds some flavor to those fights at least. Hell if they need to add another cc break to compensate so be it.

I think you should on the topics that talks about enhancement shaman. Deep freeze is not a new ability is something that was taken off the class and should be returned. Seeing that every melee class have infinite tools to no get slowed.

Without deep freeze mage really feels like a support class. No one is saying we need it to be viable, but we need it for mage to feel fun. Especially since mages got almost nothing new this xpac (or since legion).

The idea that mage would be OP if they had a stun is pretty absurd, right now mages just play with Sub rogues so that they can stun. But giving mage a stun makes it so they can play with more compositions.

It is a bit crazy to imagine that giving mages a stun, which every other class already has, would suddenly make them OP over all other classes. Some classes have multiple stuns, and aoe stuns, but Mage for some reason is so perfect and OP that a stun is too much?

When you realize that a root and a stun are different things and that the root legendary sucks

The difference between root and stun isnt what brought it up, it was the fact that the mage tool kit is already to good as is coupled with that 8 sec root through damage legendary. Yes it can be dispelled but so could our stun back in the day. I’d rather have the root and unload better damage for 8 seconds.

Survivals been fine though?

mage tool kit is already to good

Lol.

i would settle for an ICE WALL , kinda like “dota” games , would work like ring of peace but instead of a circle a line that u can put on the ground.

that or make ring of frost baseline.

Go ahead and name an expansion in which mage wasn’t extremely well-represented in rated PvP.

This is a thread about frost, not mage in general, so

BFA it was a b tier spec

Legion it was second fiddle to arcane

WoD it was good I guess

Furthermore the past is not now. Frost being good before (which, again, b tier in bfa and legion) doesn’t mean that its fine to be bad now. No spec is that way, all specs should not be shackled to “they were good before so its fine if they are lacking now”.

Agreed.

Is it bad now?

“Good” does not equal fun.

Happy see your class get a nice re-work on sub, and shadowpriest, and warriors all get interesting new playstyles. Ours has been the same since Legion and wont change in SL.

Frost (which used to be the pvp spec for mage) has been re-worked for PvE and lacks all the fun utility other classes got during de-pruning.

Fun is subjective. I appreciate the fact that you’d have more fun if you had even more CC, once again, as the undisputed king of caster CC, but others might not have so much fun.

I’d personally classify the return of mirror images as a defensive as well as alter time to be fun utility received as part of the unpruning but your mileage may vary.
