Frost Mage; My Hand Hurts

Too much spamming. Need to tone the actions per minute way down. Not fun to play, at all.

Have you tried arcane?

Arcane is probably the most lack luster and boring spec I have ever played.

Not to complain, but I unregged last night because I would rather not play the game than be forced in to arcane.

Frost is fun, I used to like it, but they ruined it when they dropped frostfire bolt and brought in flurry for brainfreeze procs.

It feels bad having two procs and most often than not, wasting a decent portion of them.

Did you try the Kyrian build or are you referring to traditional arcane?

The Kyrian build is a lot of fun and a nice break from traditional arcane

I heard it breaks the ‘arcane mold’ but I also heard that it is not as good as venthyr.

Venthyr and Kyrian arcane are neck and neck with most people preferring Kyrian. The main benefit is Venthyr arcane allows you to optimally play frost as well.

They both have different play styles

Kyrian has a different style damage. You can either play the burst/mini burst build where outside of your burst you have a mini burst window every 45 seconds or you can play prodigy and use the abilities on CD. The difference is about 1%. The Kyrian burst windows are shorter which helps for mechanics.

Venthyr s burst is based around evo so you deal one longer burst every 90 seconds.

I disagree, I’ve been playing Frost since the start of Shadowlands and prefer all the wonderful insta procs to keep IV rolling. Feel free to play a different spec like arcane or fire. Don’t wanna hear the meta excuse either unless you are a top 100 raider. Play what you enjoy and if you play it very well it’s still viable. You just may not be sitting on the tippy top.

This is the worst dumbest answer ever.

Playing meta means more damage which is better for progression no matter what level you play at. If someone chooses to play meta to min max it’s because they want the damage even if they only do aotc.

Almost every person who claims this would benefit several times more from memorizing mechanics and working on rotational execution than they would from swapping specs.

I mean that’s actually false but OK

It’s actually very true. Some people don’t like hearing that, but that’s not my problem.

This tier alone warlocks would be better swapping to Destro or demo over playing affliction.

Frost and arcane are performing far ahead of fire in the current tier.

Your opinion is wrong. I know people don’t like to admit they are wrong though.

Better, but it’s not necessary, particularly for Heroic.

Not far enough to where you can’t clear content as Fire. Optimal is very different from viable.

Calling it an opinion is to deliberately misrepresent my statement. I am not incorrect in saying this:

Complaining about Frost or Arcane won’t make you do better damage. Doing better damage will make you do better damage. You do better damage by learning fights and practicing your rotation.

Affliction is straight dumpster this tier even with the 5% buff.

Again you can clear anything as any spec in the game. Doesn’t mean it’s not a handicap.

Again actually you are.

Maybe actually read the OP. The OP was saying playing frost is causing them actual pain in their hands.

If I was addressing the OP, I would’ve quoted them. I did not do so.

And well before this handicap matters, majority of players run into the main issues that cause weak damage and bad gameplay- not learning fights, not getting rotational execution down. Spec only matters once those two factors are addressed by the individual.

My initial post was a response to your entire post, not the OP.

And those issues would affect those people no matter what spec they played.

Your point is still invalid.

That’s what I said, so:

Where’s our disagreement then? Meta doesn’t really matter outside of the absolute pinnacle of content, I agree.

:man_facepalming:t3:

And again wrong. Each spec has a different damage profile. Example being arcane having great ST burst, frost having great two target cleave, and fire having great heavy cleave.

Considering SoD has zero fights that really play to fires strengths if a person swaps to frost or arcane they will have a better chance at performing better.

Those mechanics will still affect that player on all three specs.

However if you have a mage playing frost
On the nine instead of fire or arcane because of how good the damage profile and strengths of frost are compared to fire.

lol that’s if people can get the meta right…if you play like poop with the meta and you are better at another spec, you’ll do more dps…

Ok man. Ever try melee? This is an absurd complaint.
