I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun on a dps spec before.
I must say that frost mage is INSANELY and RIDICULOUSLY FUN once you get the hang of it, and I highly recommend it.
I have struggled to play many dps specs well at this point, including assassination rogue, ele shaman, and unholy dk, but something about how the current iteration of frost mage plays just clicks with my brain, and it’s an amazing feeling when you feel like you are playing well without even having to think about it.
I’m exaggerating of course, but I’m starting to feel like Goku in autonomous ultra instinct mode when I’m on this spec (disclaimer: when there isn’t a marksmanship hunter in the lobby).
Shout out to the devs responsible for frost mage design this expansion (e.g., not broken, hard to play well, but high reward when you do, incredibly fun, lots of agency in terms of offensive/defensive decision making, etc.).
2100+cr no voice 2s + rank 48 shuffle frost mage = I think it’s time to swap mains.

Sure its fun to play but to play against its NOT fun. 10 trillion roots and ccs followed ba 1.4mil ray of frost fast channel and a free delicious 600k glacial to splatter you into a slushy red skidmark on the ground

Until something can spam purge them, then be go splat faster then they splat.
Mage certainly is fun. I got 2 mages I play and I love frost mage. It’s been a while since frost has felt so mage like. I’m even starting to do well in marksmen lobbies

Agreed, Frost mage needs some of it’s things nerfed/pruned.

Genuinely happy for you! It’s always SUPER satisfying when a spec feels that way and you start to get better at it and things just work.
I think my favorites have been boomy, arcane mage, ele sham, assa rogue, uhdk, and (forgive me for this) DH.

Yeah my general strategy is attack whoever is behind the pillar, and try to stay out of the marksmen’s line, once the marksmen is locked into my teammate I’ll be more aggressive. There is a point in the match where the enemy team has already got a few of your teamates defensives and it doesn’t make sense for them to go exclusively you and you can come out and be more aggressive having both blocks still. I take whatever opportunities I can. If the hunter just rapid fired, I’ll come out from the pillars and start attacking and get some damage out. It doesn’t take much later into dampening. A frostbomb flurry glacial ray is alot of damage in a very short period of time.
