[Glacial Insulation] now grants two charges of frost shield.
[Ice Floes] has 10 second cooldown
*[Chain Reaction] now shatters to explode dealing 50% of the damage to near by enemies with in 15 yards.
*[Splitting Ice] now increases icelance damage by 15% (moving the 10% ish from chain to here)
*[Glacial Spike] will now start its damage at 35000 (this is not intended to be a buff, as much as it is to be a stablizing effect, rasing the base value, but lowering the cap this means that glacial should generally hit for 90-120 all the time instead of some.
*[Chilled to the Bone] when chilled the target takes 2,500 damage each time they are damaged with a ice spell, and an additional 10,000 damage if they experience a shatter.
*[Burst of Cold] replaces cone of cold. New spell. the mage breathes icey fire on the targets over 6 seconds, freezing them in place, and deals 4,000 damage per a second to targets hit by it.
*(new) [Blistering cold] blizzard now has two stacks, and is instant cast, but has a 20 second cool down.
[Frozen Touch] blizzard can proc flurry (15% chance)
Azerite Traits (editing)
(new) Blizzard deals 450 more damage per a shard, its radius is increased by 5 yards, and has an additional 10% chance to freeze the target in place.
I have crit for 354k On glacial (just yesterday actually) right after a 324k crit. It’s rather easy to do, however, the stored damage times are low and cause it to drop off rather quickly, so you need to use a specific rotation to make it pop those rates.
What i am suggesting is a stabilization of that damage. for example, my “weak” glacials are around 60k (58k) and my highest is 353k Im advocating that we push the minimal damage of them to say 150k. This way their long build up and cast time has more value in pvp.
OK what’s your secret on regularly getting 200+ crits lol? I used to hit a big higher before the patch (maybe 180). Are you waiting for incanter to hit 5? Please tell me lol!
EDIT: I just checked logs for raid last night and my biggest glacial spike crit was 351k. Holy crap!
Insert that’s a lot of damage meme.
Is the spike build even good in pvp? I haven’t started pvping on my mage yet.
Pure pve so far.
I have a pretty high mastery rating and triple flash freezes. It hits anywhere between 190k and 230kish on average. I’d have to look at a log to tell you the exact highest number but it is 230k-240k.
To build large spikes all you need to do is generate the related cicles, pop icey veins + int traits, and then lance twice. This will generate a near cap on lance stored damage. You’ll need to be fast faster this to cast it though, as the damage drops with in 2 seconds of being stored.
for my this is around 40,000 base damage * Multipliers. Generally giving me 320-360k crits.
read the tool tip of glacial. It stores damage (seemingly for 2 seconds).
Int seems to greatly increase this rate, which seems to suggest that azerite int while icey veins talent synergizes really well with glacial/icey combo.
In fact, it seems to be around 175-180% Increase from int values. So effectively, 3 icey vein azerite pieces will grant 600% Damage, or potential up to 400-500k bolts.
