I see people in here saying it needs buffs then i see people saying it’s awesome and they are having fun.
Is it good or bad? so weird how the DK community is split on this.

Alao people that hate this class yet play it give false reports to ruin us in a hope Blizz will delete us one day
In reality it’s needs armor and migration on damage as well as the undo the nerfs and maybe some buffs

Chill streak is good, oblit is fine.

Our defensives are chained to a long string of GCD combo that sometimes won’t even get the job done, while other classes are literally pressing one button and becoming invincible and not having to use resources or take a penalty for using it.
Outside of cooldowns you don’t really do anything, you basically just chains of ice people and slowly run around, not offering any CC.
You’d have to play it a lot to realize it, it’s like right on the cusp of being dumpstier tier. If you couldn’t blow people up during Pillar, literally no one would play it, it would be in the same tier as Fury if not worse.

This sounds dissapointing =./ im leveling one right now. is UH better? how complicated is the UH rotation?
For PVP I still wouldn’t play Unholy though. It’s a literal piano rotation in PVP, with the same “defensives” as Frost, except you now have to use a Pet Attack macro all the time. Also people can disengage from your “burst” as Unholy, as the Abom and Ghoul are stupid/tethered.

Heres the facts.
On high parses (90th percentile), Frost is over 10% behind the top performers post Unh/MM/Boomy nerf. 75th percentile tells the same exact story as does Mythic over the last week. Its also telling that if you look at Mythic over the last day which is more or less a guarantee that some of the best players in the world are who those parses are, Frost is a whopping ~3% from the very bottom. That being said, Mythic over the last day only has 10 parses so take it with a grain of salt.
DW BoS is the highest parsing spec which is a very divisive build. You either love it or you hate it.
2h Frost is another 10% behind that which puts 2h Frost at the absolute bottom of all dps specs.
That just raid. In M+, DW BoS is the only viable choice and it does non existent AoE damage outside of BoS burst windows. So 2H Frost is even worse for M+. Having tried it in a few low keys before going back to higher keys as Unholy, I’m confident in saying 2H Frost is the absolute worst dps in the entire game for M+.
The ones saying Frost is fine are either ignorant or will never do content that is difficult enough to feel the performance disparity.
Frost as a whole needs the October nerfs 100% reverted and baseline AoE needs massive help.

The guy who just posted is really obtuse and doesn’t realize this is about PVP, not that he’s wrong or anything, just obnoxiously off base and butt hurt apparently lmao.
Frost is 2 different worlds in PVP and PVE. So not knowing this is actually showing true ignorance.
Also no one even said Frost is fine, you just called everyone in here ignorant for no reason, good job.
UH easily has more survivability and longevity than frost based on the fact it can kite and still pressure.
In my mind frost feels incomplete compared to UH based on how much more utility it gets from the pet

Can confirm this for dw BoS…
It’s sad… It’s not like god awful, but unholy can do what frost does, but better. The main issue with frost is that if you commit to a BoS or Aoe build in general then you sacrifice a lot of single target output. The same thing goes with opting for single target. Unholy does not have that issue. It’s fine if you want to do frost for mythic 0, but to anyone wanting to push keys and serious raiding progression, just do yourself a favor and use Unholy. Frost will only hold you and your raid back a lot.

In arena what matters is killing people in a burst window, not kiting. Also you aren’t kiting an Arms/WW/Sub rogue, so yeahhhh.
DW BoS actually is our highest ST and AoE build.
But it does less damage than a tank outside of BoS windows and BoS isn’t even a viable choice for 2h.
So basically you choose between the following
-
Decent bust but no damage outside of a 2m AoE cooldown - DW BoS
-
Slightly less ST burst, but poor AoE damage and poor sustain - DW Oblit
-
Less ST burst, unacceptably low AoE damage and poor sustain -2h Oblit
Or you just respec Unholy and do more sustain, significantly higher burst for both ST and AoE and still have even more utility. Plus an execute. I’m lucky to hit 6k dps during burst windows as 2h Oblit. If FwF doesn’t crit, it straight up isn’t happening. As Unholy though I can do well over 7k burst. I’m pretty sure just Army alone is good enough to break 6. No need for UhB, DT, Apoc or Abom’s Limb.
Its not even a choice if you care about your performance.

It’s impervious to know that FWF, BoS and CH damage are reduced by 70%, 66% and 70% respectively in PvP combat. DS heal is nerfed by 50% in PvP combat so if you’re using it for barely surviving in PvE content like Torghast, guess how much healing it does in PvP. It’s hilariously bad
So there are some things to work around as Frost now to just avoid picking some talents for PvP. For PvE, there is Breath Build that many people hate and some people like which is pretty much a heresy to put it lightly. 
The nerfs from October really put us in a gutter in terms of damage. I have Verod’s post here to vouch for this as the logs in Mythics and Castle Nathria showed that Frost has little to no parse in comparison to Unholy which just got ridiculously buffed from the same patch.
I mostly agree with both Verod and Necrorc sentiment. Most if not all of the Frost nerfs back in October must be reverted for Frost to be competitive and we have a hard proof data that is Warcraftlogs to support this.

Look, is frost ok to level? Can I run normal, heroics, and M0 (not even sure what that is) as frost with out being booted from the group (or laughed at).
PVP: running normal BG I am fine. Sure, I’d like a better heal, and I get that there our certain classes that 1vs1 will destroy me. Fine. Regular BG I think I have even been in 1 fight that was 1vs1. So at 60, can I at least run frost in regular bgs?
I like frost. I like the graphics and the style (DW by the way). I tried Unholy back when I created this char and didn’t like it. Instead of being forced to play a spec I don’t like I’ll just park this DK (again - hes been parked for years while I took a break from the game) and roll a druid or something… if I have too.
Its fine to level with, Normal and Heroics yes. M0? Probably. M+? I wouldnt even try. Even if they let you go, you’ll be getting hard carried.
