The point is, since it now works on obliterate, it is the best runeforge for 2h frost. It will now buff all of our frost damage.
the only thing separating 2h and dw at this point is rune of the fallen crusader and perhaps slightly more natural killing machine procs. Definitely not worth losing 35% damage on obliterates though.
Obliteration is dead as a DW talent.
Which is about the same strength as FC⌠soooo you are giving up one buff to get another while DW still gets both.

Yeah I am 100% going razorice. I think the increased obliteration damage is meant to offset the lack of a FC runeforge.
FC works on all damage, razorice works on only frost damage. Not all of your obliterates are going to be frost damage.

Honestly, I have no idea why people are still hanging on to that notion, that is old thinking. The new DPS tests are showing 2h and DW neck and neck and that was prior to 2h being buffed and DW being nerfed this patch.

Not on aoe. Did you see bicepspumps update? Did you see the new build today?
Breath will continue to outperform Oblit by a wide margin in aoe, and a DW breath build will definitely outpace a 2H breath build.
For single target, 2H will be quite good.
Yeah, they nerfed obliterate for both 2h and DW, and increased might. So its a buff to might.

No⌠a might buff. DW was buffed in other ways that 2h wouldnt even look at because of Might.

Ok, thats fine. But dont call it a meme spec⌠its a strong single target spec, less effective against multiple targets. I think it is fair to note that Bliz seems to be nerfing the idea of AOEing everything anyway. Both weapon sets/builds will have a place.

I went through all the spell changes on mmo champion and breath is the only one that would buff dw. the rest 2h also benefits from. we also lost a 7% overall damage buff aura apparently so itâs likely standard tuning.
the only way dw takes obliteration is as a frost scythe cleave spec but even then frost scythe would need a buff in damage to overtake avalanche.
dw obliteration is dead in this build
