anytime i use obliterate, im missing my target around 30% of the time, impacting my single target dps quite drastically. some numbers pulled from details:
2 bosses in raid:
98 casts - 74 hits
89 casts - 68 hits
dungeon overall:
333 casts - 220 hits
any potential solutions for my issue?
Assuming you are Dual Wield, your offhand is going to miss a significant portion of the time. Theres nothing you can do about it, it is intentional.
Its why you run Razorice on your mainhand and FC on the offhand. FC has a limit on how often it can proc so the misses dont really matter but the mainhand wont miss so you put Razorice on it so it stacks as fast as possible.

Its not intentional. Special attacks dont miss, even with the offhand. If it is, then its a bug that needs fixing.
Thats for auto attacks, not for ability usage.
Yellow damage or special attacks should not miss anymore, in fact they havent missed with DW anything since they removed hit and expertise. If special attacks are missing with Obliterate, as DW, then its a bug.

Thats how DW looks in details. The amount of hits is doubled by the amount of uses since each weapon counts as its own hit. You can also see… 0 misses.
Are you merged with minions in details? Maybe something about how it’s counting horseman obliterates. ? 333 casts but only 220 were actually player.

I am using a 2h weapon frost build but to Kelliste’s point, since it’s an ability I would assume it would always hit.
Chaaka - I manually counted each cast of obliterate and it seems like details is counting more casts than hits. Manually counted 20 casts of obliterate (details logged 24 casts and 20 hits). However, horseman obliterates are logged separately and they had 1 cast but 5 hits so the net “4” casts must have came from the horseman. Based on this, it sounds like details might be the culprit and your split balling seem to be the winner!
Its showing up in logs as well so its probably not details and its not consistent.
There are some showing 100 casts 98 hits, 2% miss.
119 casts, 116 hits, 0% miss.
It might just be details and Warcraft logs that are messing up.
Unless you see a miss in the actual combat logs or a yellow miss on screen, I would just assume its something with Details and WCL and its up to them to fix it.
