Frost DK Feedback – Patch 11.2 (PvE & PvP)

I’ve been playing Frost DK for a while now, and I’ll give credit where it’s due: Patch 11.2 is a major step in the right direction. ERW finally feels like a real button, Breath is more flexible, and we have actual talent choices that change how we play.

That said, we’re still dealing with a few long-standing problems, especially in PvP and high-mobility PvE content. Just wanted to throw out some thoughts while this is still fresh on PTR:

  1. Still Getting Kited into the Ground

Frost’s biggest weakness has always been mobility, and that hasn’t changed. Even with Chains and Death’s Advance, we just don’t have the tools to stick to mobile targets — especially when grip is down or used defensively.

Fix? Give us a short CD movement ability. A Frost-themed dash, blink, rune leap, anything. Even if it’s short range, we need something.

  1. Breath is Better, but Still Too Risky

Allowing movement during Breath was great, but in PvP or high mechanics PvE, getting CC’d or knocked still ends your whole window. One mistake or CC and your DPS is cooked.

Idea: Maybe let some of its power linger after canceling, like a short buff that boosts frost damage for a few seconds. Or refund part of the RP/runes if canceled early.

  1. Hero Talents Are Lopsided

Let’s be honest, in PvP, Rider of the Apocalypse is the clear winner. And in PvE, it’s all about Deathbringer. There’s no real choice here, it’s just “which one is viable for this content.”

Would be cool to see Rider tuned up a bit for PvE cleave, or Deathbringer get something useful defensively for PvP.

Sadly, DB was great for frost until it got overnerfed.

Yeah if they ease up on the modifier on reapers mark, DB could see a lot more play.

I think DKs have enough mobility, but since abom limb is going i would like us to get more death grip value. Make CD the same as blood for uh/frost, or add some CDR that didn’t rely on a killing blow.

This is the case for basically every “damage window” spec.
