Frost agro bug?

Happened to me in a +10 sanguine depths and ruined the key. We kept at it, and fun things such as Kaal deciding to run all the way to the 3rd boss’ arena from her gauntlet happened.

Yep, this happens to me a lot in keys. I’m afraid to release if I die and invis is on cd.

It’s not with any specific ability. I’ve had it happen loads without using alter time (or invis like others have mentioned). It’s not lingering aoes either. It’s happened when literally all I’ve done is the regular rotation without cooldowns (i.e. frostbolt + ice lance + flurry only).

Have no fear, even if you invis when you respawn they just snap to you once you get out of invis. Enjoy! =] =[

This happens to me when I use invis. It’s a huge bug right now.

I’ve had at least 3 or 4 torghast runs ruined by this. Wiped on last boss, release, he comes chasing me to the entrance.

Invisibility doesn’t seem to work as it should in general. Even when I use it while questing, it doesn’t always drop aggro.
The first couple of times I thought I had just overseen some attack hitting me while I was transitioning into invisibility, but I’ve paid attention to that since then and it doesn’t always drop it when nothing hits me or even when the aggroed mob is still in casting distance and not on me. My latest experiences with invisibility and pve targets remind me more of trying to use invisibility in world pvp.

And on releasing and aggro: Happens to me in Torghast whenever I die - either that or the mob (was always a floor guardian) gets stuck in evade (and tbh I’m starting to think they only get stuck in evade cause they are programmed to be where they are but still reaggro on me so they bug out completely).

I’m wondering if it might be an issue with thrill seeker? Can’t be mirrors cause I don’t always use it (especially when I don’t even attack) but thrill seeker stacks automatically, so maybe it’s that? Are all of you venthyr/Nadja too?

Mirrors maybe could cause this as well but this bug of things staying aggroed on you after death has existed since at least Ny’alotha (when I experienced it) The most popular assumption I’ve seen is that it could be icicle base… sometimes. Most likely dying as one of them is being released. You die and it freezes in the air and when you rez it hits target and re aggros.

I used to think it had something to do with abilities still being active, mirrors or orb or something. But I have waited up to 30 seconds to release, mobs all reset, no abilities active, and it still happens.

I personally don’t think it’s baseline abilities you have in your rotation. I think it’s probably always some borrowed power that either applies a DoT to the mob/boss or a stacking buff to you, be it a corruption, an azerite power, a covenant ability, you name it.

But then all other classes and specs had/have those too and it seems to be frost specific. Maybe they really just screwed up aggro balancing in general as they tried to adjust tank aggro?

I mean, honestly, it’s their job to figure out what does it and to solve it.

I’ve leveled up a Fire Mage alt and while it seems to happen less to it, I have seen this agro issue happen once so far to it in M+. It seems not exclusive to Frost (just more common).

This is still happening in both Torghast and Mythic+ and ruining runs of both. Trash aggros the Frost Mage across half the map after a wipe.

Happens to me when ever I died solo in Torghast before its nerf.

Happened once in a dungeon.

Yeah just happened to me twice in a row on floor 18 tier 8… fix you game… I’ve been playing frost mage since lich king this shouldnt even be an issue idk how they havent fixed it yet…

So me and a friend both play mage in m+, very frequently we’re in there together, both as frost. Getting agro after a wipe happens to him constantly, but hasn’t happened to me at all. The pack along with everything else they pull comes running at him, and I’m good. Same is true if he’s in a different group or I’m not on mage. It’s always him, never me.

I really wish they would find the cause and fix it. It seems to be character specific.l, because we’ve run the exact same builds too and nothing aggros to me.
