Not true at all. It is completley in blizzs hands if they want to create that problem or not. The last expansion i played that was a few before shadow lands. I carried on many conversations with players, AFTER the dungeon and AFTER we were not im a group. I would get a message, hey awesome tanking in that run, or i would message them nice healing. Then we talk for awhile,CROSS SERVER. all you had to do was attach the server name to the player name. And many times we added to friends list and joined and qued up again the next day.
The only thing cross server does is add more players to meet. Yeah, i dont see how that is bad.
And in lower levels it was very common to get into a group that was gelling good and having fun and reque together several times in a row.
But but but, it took away from the world. Yeah it did. A whole whopping 5 players. That were playing together and having a great time. God forbid we werent out in the world though wishing we could meet other players, just so that guy 10 levels below you happens to see you so he can feel better about seeing more ppl.
Without RDF:
Manage Lfg tool, read chats, post messages, slowly form group, arrive at dungeon, summon.
With RDF: List self, go down other things that you enjoy, go to dungeon, repeat.
Seriously, RDF allows players to do other things while its looking for a group. Giving players more chances to go into the world and do things. Verses reading spam chats and trying to find that last slot so you can finally go to the stone and summon.
I have every interest in running dungeons but 0 interest reading the lfg channel that is filled with worthless spam.
What exactly makes the world “feel alive”? 90% of players afk in Shatt or other major cities, if they do leave the cities its for solo content like Achievements. Otherwise those who are running dungeons will either afk til summons are available or they just hop on the flightpath.
This point has never made sense and it seems like you don’t actually play the game.
I’d rather have RDF with teleport
Compared to RDF without teleport
And here’s why.
If you take away the teleport, you are opening the gates for cross realm zoning. Say goodbye to server identity because now people will be able to server hop to their hearts desire. Imagine seeing more people in a zone from other servers than people that actually play on the server. Do you want people from other servers farming herb/ore/mobs on your server?
Let alone pvp servers will now be a total mess. Having people from other servers attacking your city and when you go to defend they just server hop away.
Make it work non cross server but only for old content. Finding people for old world 5 mans while leveling is pretty painfull and helps a lot with breaking up doing the same old quests over and over.
If you need any reason to say no to rdf for heroics then may i remind you that oculus and violet hold are both instances in wotlk.
In all seriousness though i always felt that lfd ruined 5 man content because it went from bc being considered hard heroics to wotlk being lol who cares no cc just aoe. Then blizz tries to change this with cata heroics being hard again and the outcry was so great the default every xpac since has been dont cc just aoe and clear in 10 mins half afk.
Lmfao… It’s just amazing watching history repeat itself. Like literally repeat itself. And people actually have the gall to blame Blizzard for the state retail is in.
