what are they called?
they are a frog dragon, so… fragon?
or are they a toad dragon? so… toegone?

They just need to make dragons tameable outright. We already partner with several sentient beasts, both as pets and mounts. And fighting with a dragon pal doesn’t demean them like riding them does.
