A couple friends just informed me they bought gold. After some review it looks like this website they used is offering boosts, gold, etc. Isn’t this “illegal” in WoW terms? Would I be expecting a ban if I were to do this?
(I am not going to at all, I don’t like cheating the game I love. Just curious because its a little infuriating to see it done. I know Blizz can’t stop it but was curious on their opinions.)
Buying gold is illegal in any shape or form for real money. You can report them if you want for cheating.
Supposed to be against the rules. You should report your friends. This is an integrity of the game situation. I still highly doubt blizz will bother pursuing it. That costs money and doesn’t make them any money.
dont be that guy to report your friends… just dont do it. and know that they bought it and whatever they have because of it isnt equal to you.
Thanks for the info/responses. I won’t report them, just sucks that they did this. A little respect has been lost. I figured it was against Blizzard rules and wish they would at least make it harder for people to buy gold.
At the end of the day its just a game and I shouldn’t care but here we are.

Right so allow the integrity of the game to be compromised. For everyone’s complaints about how these modern companies release half finished products, milk players pocket books every chance they get, and a slew of other cash grabs. Your friends and anyone like them are why this industry is where it’s at today.

Yeah it’s against ToS to buy gold from a external site. Yet with retail you can buy a token and sell it on the AH for 250k lol. What a world we live in.
I’d agree, but it’s not this dude’s fault. It’s Blizzard’s fault for not finding and actioning cheaters.

I agree it is blizz’s fault. Especially after they let the gold sellers stock up with the layer exploiting. Which blizz recieved mountains of feedback on saying it would be abused. Before it even went live. Blizz promptly ignored it and didn’t do anything until shortly before layering was removed.
The damge was already done. We knew going in blizz was not going to pursue real money traders. They simply will not pay the labor required or permaban buyers.
So really I guess GG. The token will probably be along shortly. Sickening really.
