Friendly Reminder Before You Buy the Re-Useable Augment Rune

pretty much this

This. Where the heck are people getting “1 rune per hour”? It’s not 1 per hour, it’s an UNLIMITED supply of runes.

It’s a good deal, always is, every expansion. Main reason to get Exalted.

It’s an absolute waste of gold. After the betrayal when BFA launched, never again.

They did the same when Legion launched with the one in WoD. It just didn’t cost as much.

I’m amazed people are exalted already. I do the three WQs every day since the zone opened and I’m only at 18k. I also have stack the DMF buff every chance since it’s been available.

Yea, but that last millimeter of strength doesn’t really mean much. It seems only specifically meaningful in progression raid where the fights are designed to be make or break, and you will have to rebuff it repeatedly as you’re making bleeding edge pushes your group is only barely capable of. You can’t rely on that in timed keys, you really want to be overkilling it to some degree and even with the whole group running augments in 5 player the impact negligible. They are an additive thing, having 20x18 extra main stat in a raid group can add up to a second or two difference against an enrage timer. Raid wipes are 3-5 minutes, not an hour. It is a senseless item to me.

It is 1 per hour, not unlimited. The hard part of runes is having to rebuff them all the time, which the item does very little to help. As progression goes away and the raid goes on farm, rune consumption drops to 2 a night, so you can’t use it to significantly reduce expenses during progression and you can’t use it to significantly reduce expenses on farm. It is just a gold sink with no purpose.

Then don’t buy it?

I’m going to just because I really don’t feel like remembering to pick them up.

Although you’re not wrong, you’re not right either.

Because where you do draw that line in the sand? That’s is inherently how you scale-up in WoW: one little bit at a time.

So you scoff at the Augment Rune. Ok… fine. Again, you’re not wrong.

Do you also scoff at your food buff? It’s not much.

Do you also scoff at a gem slot/ gem? It’s not much.

Do you also scoff at the other 4 gem slots? It’s not much.

Do you also scoff at the 1-2 +stat Enchants? It’s not much.

Do you also remember, as a Warrior, for your Battle Shout buff? It’s not much.

Does your Raid remember to ask the Mage for the Intellect buff? It’s not much.

Does your Raid remember to ask for Fort? It’s not much.

So on the scale of “you’re not right/wrong” … you surely seem more wrong to me.

And this list was just off the top of my head to prove the point. There are probably 2-3 more I’m not counting.

The Augment Rune is an effective PERMANENT BUFF!!! That’s a big deal.

Arcane int is currently (for my character), almost 7x as much stat as an augment rune.

It is too expensive and everyone knows that fact I hope. At most I say 10k and that pushing it. I remember when I got one in MOP from a quest and now you have to buy one. Just shows you how Ion treat customer.s

It’s not worth it, not one bit. Waste of gold. The DPS increase from it for the price is very minimal.

Last week, runes on my server were 300g. Somebody on my server is relisting everything. A re-usable rune for 40k is a good deal to me.

It’s one per minute.

The reuseable items that are 15 Min - Hour Re-use are Flasks, not Runes. And despite what people think, there is a difference between reuseable runes and flasks lol.

All re-useable runes are 1 minute cooldown -

Both of these no longer function at level 60 though.

ROFL way to ignore that point. gg

Even though there was precedent, Blizzard didn’t HAVE to create an “Infinite Augment Rune” like they had in previous expacs

But once it was officially announced, I sold off 90% of my current stock (still needed some to carry me until I could buy the new one). Selling the ones I had left netted me $140,000k.

So what you call “too expensive”, I say I bought for free and kept $100k in spare change.

AND now I have a permanent buff. Plan better…

Like so: MoP era Crystal of Insanity; Binds when picked up; Unique; Use: Increases all stats by 500(6) for 1 hour. Counts as both a Battle and Guardian elixir. WoD era Oralius’ Whispering Crystal; Binds when picked up; Unique; Use: Increases all stats by 100 (8)for 1 hour. Counts as both a Battle and Guardian elixir.

I’ll pass on the infinite rune… 40k would take quite a while to return its value, but the bigger issue is the general lack of worthwhile missions available.

Outside of some gold missions, pet missions, all that’s left is rune missions. The runes, for me at least, are effectively free.
