Friend got silenced in game for being afk

It’s not “duped”. I hit 24hrs exactly as described. While others hit a much longer duration than I did because they probably misbehaved worse than I did. But again, I have heard talks of harsher punishments being handed out than normal. Again:

Again:

Again:

That’s why we appeal.

It’s funny, you won’t accept me acknowledging the auto system, until I call it an “auto-silence” LOL

Because you’re only hand waving it away as a “squelch” which has been proven to not exist.

It’s just a full blown automated silence. Anything else is something you’ve been duped into believing.

The Silences in WoW are fully automated. Period. No such thing as a squelch.

It does exist. It’s happened to me for the duration like the blue, Asmon and all them said it would.

With a set duration, yes. Like suspensions and bans.

Nope, because the extended duration is manually applied and not automated.

The set duration version of it, yes.

Yes, there is. And, the punishments (Squelch, Silence, Suspensions, etc.) are going to become a lot harsher because the shorter durations weren’t working. Welcome to the longer version of the auto-Si…I mean Squelch :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

At this point I think it’s time for…

It’s not good enough, until I just regergitate everything this person is saying. I can’t even meet them halfway by acknowledging there is an automated system, at play. I HAVE to refer to it as an “auto-silence”. Talk about tyrannical/gaslighting.

Oh well, I’ve explained the best I could. Time to put them on ignore, now 'cause I refuse to be bullied into submission. GL with your lies, Raiimer and happy hunting.

I don’t even use the word “fresh”, anymore. Like, when people say they want “fresh” servers. Do they mean seasonal servers wirh a reset? Or a “fresh” NEW server with no transfers and never resets? Context is always important.

What in the name of Lucifer’s Earth are you talking about? I’ll have enough democracy then to slap you in the face for spittin’ on what’s mine. How about that?

Yes, and Vrakthis has explained this in a blue post I shared previously. Because the squelch and the silence perform the same function (the only difference being that the squelch is automated and the silence is manually reviewed) for whatever reason the official website support page and any emails received will say you got ‘silenced’ even though, by the CMs own admissions, an automated squelch is applied first.

And it’s not just Vrak that has confirmed this, multiple CMs have spoken about this over the years.

The easiest way to determine whether you’ve been squelched or silenced is to try to type a message in game in a channel that you could type in before you were hit with the penalty. If the message you get says: “Your chat and mail privileges have been suspended pending GM review.” then you’ve been squelched. If it says: “Your chat and mail privileges have been suspended until ??/??/?? (where ?? is a date)” then you’ve been silenced.

No one is denying that an automated system exists, we’re just pointing out facts to the peanut gallery, which ya’ll refuse to accept because Asmongold apparently ‘exposed’ the truth, but all he did was reveal that the system is working precisely as intended.

it says neither now though, heres a link to staysafe doing it couple weeks ago, i have the link at the spot it shows u the message, it tells u to check email now, which it did and it was account silenced

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ep9OzAuoh0&t=4m09s

so, if it used to say pending gm review or a date, it changed

i just looked up asmongold since his name is thrown around, looks like he tried this in 2016 and got a pending gm review message

but thats not what you get anymore, something changed and it looks for the worst

Right, so they’ve updated the message.

But the rest of what I said is still accurate. A squelch is applied first, that is automated, then a silence may be applied after GM review. This is something that’s been confirmed as early as this year (in the thread I linked previously with folks asking for clarification).

Would it benefit Blizzard if they separated squelch and silence in their emails to make it clear that an account has either been hit with a temporary silence or a serious one? Absolutely. Are they going to do that? No, probably not, and that is not great, because it creates confusion.

But the way the system works has not changed.
