There was a leak on MMO Champion where Fresh WoW Classic would be released on May 29th (Monday for US and Tuesday for EU) at 6pm EST.
I don’t know how legit this leak is. It could be fake given the hype around WoW Classic, but it could also be legit.
It says that there will be 1 PvE server, 3 PvP servers, 1 RP server, 1 RP-PvP server, and 1 Hardcore server. The content will be released in 5 phases:
- Ony, MC, and Honor.
- BWL and OWBs.
- ZG and AB
- AQ40
- Naxx
I do not know if these are going to be released in a 1 year, 1.5 year, or 2 year period. I would assume a semi-speedy release given that it’s a no-changes fresh release, and that most players would demand a faster content release with the content not being that challenging. If this leak proves to be true, I would put my money personally on a 1.5 year release (~18 months).
I do hope that this isn’t fake, but then again, with the hype going on and lack of communication from Blizzard this could very well be the case. What do you think? If you are interested in the post, I am sure you can find it still on MMO Champion if it has yet to be deleted. But, screenshots of the leak have been floating around on reddit and YouTube - take a look for yourself.

quite the opposite. 5/29 date makes it total fake
When was the last time Blizzard released anything on a federal holiday? The date is not realistic.
And just to preempt people saying “Blizzard doesn’t have to follow those holidays” – while they generally don’t have to, as a company they decided to. Memorial Day is listed as time off on their benefits page:

just because the date was in the leak doesn’t mean it’s final
