Fresh will be terribly bad and boring

Vanilla wow is a mostly very boring game.

The only fun thing in wow is warsong gulch. World pvp can be fun sometimes when it’s not 10v2, but that’s rare. In this iteration of fresh, there will only be one pvp server, with lots of layers. Everyone will end up doing what they did in SoD and just hop to different layers to avoid wpvp when they want to.

Really the only reason to play fresh is if you enjoy progression raiding 20 year old pve stuff. If you have never played vanilla before, I can understand why you might want to try that out. If you’ve already raided molten core 200 times, I can’t understand why you would waste more of your life doing that.

The new honor system they put in era is going to ruin progression raiding for the people that enjoy that. Everyone who has the time to AFK in alterac valley for several weeks will have rank 14 gear which will trivialize most raid content. The honor system is now a pure honor per hour grind, and both factions know that the fastest hph for both sides is when alliance kill a few horde NPCs and let horde kill Vann as fast as possible. There is no real PvP in a 40v40 battleground where the objective is to kill NPCs. It’s not fun, it never was fun, and it never will be fun. So there’s zero skill or effort involved in getting rank 14 now, it’s simply a test of whether you have enough hours in a week to log in and pretend to play AV.

It’s really sad that blizzard’s complete lack of imagination prevented them from updating the ranking system to something better than the current era one. On one hand I’m surprised more than ten people are planning on playing fresh, on the other hand vanilla fans have proven they will do whatever blizzard tells them to do.

I’ll refrain from making any predictions about whether WSG will be fun in fresh. It has potential thanks to the new rank system evening out a lot of gear disparities, but whether people actually play it or rank their 4th alt in AV is TBD, and if they do play it at all it will only be for several months and then TBC is released.

I hope the fresh fans enjoy killing thousands of autoattacking 2004 scripts on their way to 60, jk they won’t, most people are going to pay 3rd world boosters to log in to their accounts and level for them (no one likes leveling).

You realize we’ve done this a few times now and we know exactly what we’re going to be doing right?

Sorry you aren’t looking forward to it.

Good luck convincing any of us not to.

I think it’s definitely going to bleed players faster than normal that’s why it’s good they only have two servers

There’s never been a vanilla fresh with the current braindead honor system. Or layers.

vanilla leveling experience is far superior to all other WoW iterations, including Retail.

There must be some psychological phenomenon that explains why people campaign so heavily against completely optional gaming content that they won’t even participate in.

It’s like if I made a COD account and started telling everyone there shouldn’t be any more COD games, even though the last time I played COD was in 2005.

This should be studied.

You could make this exact same post for any version of WoW, or any video game really. You either like classic or you don’t. Plenty of people do and they will be playing here. If you like TBC then just wait for that in a year. Or you can play the other versions of WoW. What exactly is the problem? Would you have rather them released nothing?

He knows me so well, and yet we’ve never met or even spoken before…

I shall do my best to temper my enjoyment knowing how much I actually hate everything you just said I hate.

I don’t need to read anything else.
Some rando who doesn’t really enjoy vanilla trying to tell us that it will be bad and boring.
