This has probably been discussed already but, the fresh servers are wrecked! So heavily over populated, takes much longer than it should to complete quests. Very frustrating to play. Might as well go back to retail 
Spawn rates are not in any way keeping up with the population demands. People have been saying this for a while now.

We keep asking for more layers but Blizzard remains silent on it.
That’s not a horrible idea. There are also Era realms that are less populated than the fresh anniversary realms, if you’d prefer less crowded of an experience. There are lots of options.
Question: Are you playing for a Vanilla experience or are you waiting on TBC?
If the answer is TBC then Level to cap over the next year and then enjoy.
If the answer is Vanilla then you have some strong alternatives.
- PvP Realm large community but good folks with a stable (inflated) economy on the Whitemane Realm Classic Era.
- PvP RP realm Small tight community Grobbulous Classic Era.
- PVE Realm Pagle Classic Era; they seem like nice folks.

If going back to retail is an option for you, you should probably go.

If you ever played retail, then yes you should go back. You’re not welcome on Classic servers.
Zygor is so much better. You can easily find a free version online. I saw a streamer do the same questing route in ungoro and rxp made them go a non optimal way to do quests while zygor was more direct. I feel like rxp is copying zygor’s homework and changing it a bit to not look the same, making it less efficient.
Also, following any guide will be less efficient if everyone is following the same/similar guide as everyone will be fighting for the same things, even though there might be alternatives.
