It’s been 5 years EQ does fresh every year. Just give a fresh Classic cluster and watch sub numbers go up. The Classic super inflated economy keeps a lot of people on private servers
Only the ones who can’t afford $15 a month.
I don’t play era myself cus if the GDKP economies personally. It’s very non spirit of classic. Might as well just Turtle or play EQ for the true classic experience
Yea GDPKs and dungeon boosting are huge negatives that ruin a lot of the game. I still enjoy it because its all we have. Pservers are to risky for me to get invested in and whitemane cluster is packed 24/7. Not perfect but with everybody at different stages, it does feel similar to when I first started playing. Which is a plus.
They should keep Classic era but do fresh refills every couple years then dump em back into era at the end imo. It would keep era fresh and alive for a long time
I actually was thinking about the other day, it would be pretty enjoyable to have classic servers for like Classic, TBC, Lich King, that just reset every 2 years (kinda like if a new expansion were to come out, but oh wait its classic again!)
It could also be a system like how Diablo is where you have a “Seasonal” character/server that starts out fresh no nothings, and then at the end is transferred to a “standard” server so that way you can still enjoy the character afterwards, but also get that enjoyment of doing the old stuff again, getting your first epic (or hell even rare item), your first bag, the first dungeon you do.
It would help a lot with keeping classic going without it being “completed” and allows a new adventure back in the old world again.
That’s 100% what they should do. Give us a nice 2 year cycle of standard vanilla patches and then dump everyone onto era after nax.
Tbh I think an accelerated experience like the TLPs for EQ would work for Vanilla-Wrath servers too. Just run the whole trilogy over the course of a year with xp buffs and extra loot drops enabled.
It seems like such easy money slam dunk too. Literally you can farm subs every 2 years lmao
This… Amen.
