I hear a lot of negativity surrounding the topic of Fresh classic. But I have a different perspective that is focused on the game in the short term and what it could bring.
First things first, we already lived this Vanilla WoW life twice. Rarely do we get a chance to experience something twice with the same magnitude. I had the privilege to be on launch day and spend the entire month playing and nothing that I have had on a PS could come close to this wonderful experience. It was awesome while it lasted, and that time has passed once again and will not come back even at Fresh classic.
Fresh classic cannot be approached with the same attitude than Launch Classic. Fresh is the opportunity you will have to attain a more expert level of vanilla gameplay. To go back and do what you couldnāt do the first time around. I understand a great deal of you say āIāve done it allā and āThere is nothing left to seeā, then great, you stay away from Fresh then. But the reality is, tons of players have not done it all still to this day.
Stop infecting with your arrogance the excitement that this great audience for Fresh has, and that will not necessarily āreliveā because they already did that at launch, but will focus on āFinishingā what they couldnāt before . Their excitement for the new classes they will roll, or the new professions they will try to level up in order to finally know what being financially stable looks like in Azeroth!
Some will remember unattained items that they will try to obtain this time around, unsuccessful raids and guild leaders that will want a second chance at making it work, and the chance to actually have some presence in PVP that due to time constraints or a crazy amount of purists didnāt allow them to have before.
FRESH CLASSIC is for the " unfinished business" crowd, for the āOne last timeā crowd, for the " F$%& it, why not do it again" crowd that contrary to your belief, actually has a substantial amount of people behind.
I think Fresh Classic will succeed with what itās intended purpose refers to, not in the corporate world with the vision of a long term game that will yield tons of revenue, I believe most of us at least can agree that is too late for that now. From that area it will undoubtedly fail.
But in a cycle of completion perspective. It will be the last season of Vanilla WoW as we know it, and that will leave this chapter behind for long time. Until the years and nostalgia eventually brings some of you back again, although I reckon that the majority will not come back.
I am excited for Fresh Classic and finally close this chapter of my gaming life. I want to fully experience TBC and eventually afterwards get to the expansion that I love and stay there and donāt look back until I close that chapter as well.
I know a lot of you feel the same way, either to move to your preferred expansion or just simply play another game. So to you I say this will work in the short termā¦and also will gladly ask you to give itā¦
