- NEVER allow transfers to prevent ninja transfers!
- Have a schedule for content release with specific dates (customize this for options; slow release (Naxx in 2 years) vs fast pace content release (Naxx in 1 year)) The more casual gamers with less time I think will appreciate this as an option.
- Faction specific que times for PvP server balance (avoid 99% servers assuming the ‘ideal’ is no worse than 40/60 % split as ‘balanced’)
- Lower drop rates for Legendary items for the sake of fame and glory! Let this feel like a vanilla.
- Make instances much harder where at least one CC (mage) class is required in a party. No AOE instance farming elites by 1-2 mages.
Nobody wants to sit and farm each raid for 6 months straight, OP.
I would actually find a fresh server where its just the last phase interesting. But the thought of MC again is awful.
Seeing how little you can do naxx with would be neat.
I’d prefer no fresh servers. Just a perpetual classic era. I like static. One of the big reasons I’ve always looked back fondly on vanilla was because there wasn’t much change. I guess I’m just a creature of habit and comfort lol. For me the most fun atmosphere in the game was when there were no bgs, and hardly anyone raiding. It felt more like a "world’’ of warcraft because everyone was out in it.
If that’s the case, why would you prefer a perpetual classic era with a largely empty world to a fresh server pre bgs and pre raid logging?
I would love a fresh server with rolling restarts and some changes to get rid of the more terrible aspects of classic, (mostly the worldbuff/raid loggin meta and dungeon boosting.)
Now that the #nochanges fanatics are mostly gone they could actually try and do some refining. Everquest does something similar and its successful for the most part. the only other option is wait till WotlK classic and then just sit in icecrown citadel till the end of time because seriously nobody is gonna care about cata or mop classic.
