I actually think 6 months would be great… but then you have to do silly things to keep loot & PvP in line with the original timeline. 4x ranking speed. 4x loot drops. Etc.
SoM timeline felt great and it was a fairly painless fix: double raid loot + double ranking speed.
Gold wasn’t that useful in SoM because boosters were gone.
Most people bought gold for boosts, not that much for endgame content.
Wbuffs were and are still heavily relevant for entire servers coordination and cooperation, that does not compare to farming runes for casters at all.
It is like saying that making titan’s flasks for your tanks are equally socially relevant to running ZG to coordinate a head drop with other guilds and even horde side.
I would not play Classic on a short loop like that, but I’m almost certain there is a niche community that kept the you-know-what-scene alive for a decade that are into that kind of thing.
I’m totally honest about the fact that I missed the 2019 Classic launch and what I really wanted was to do Classic launch through the end of The Burning Crusade and probably quit at WotLK. Whether or not I would redo it depends on how the first go went and if I had the time for it.
Since, there’s no perma BC, ATM, I can only think of four scenarios, to make it exist, again:
“Fresh” Perma BC server. No 60s from Vanilla to BC. ALL “fresh”. Should’ve done this, in the first place. Same with Wrath, but I digress.
Transition the “stale” Perma Vanilla servers into BC and recreate Perma Vanilla, AGAIN. We’d be Wrath, BC and Vanilla, as it should be.
Transition the “stale” Perma Vanilla servers into BC and NOT recreate the perma Vanilla servers (we’d just be Wrath and BC).
A secondary “Fresh” Vanilla (whether you can transfer your other 60s here or not is irrelevant) that’ll transition into BC and remain Perma BC. I believe this is what you’re seeking. The likelihood of this is very very slim. I’d bet on option 3 as a more likely scenario than this one.
Oh, so you’ll just abandon ship? Why should Blizz accomadate you, if you’re just gonna quit, regardless?
You either like playing Classic WoW or you don’t. Classic is NOT meant to be “new”/“progression”. That’s what Retail is for.
I’m playing Classic 'cause I like the original formatting/layout. Not gear up and bounce, until the next “new” thing.
2019 Classic was way too long. Half the people I know quit before BWL or battlegrounds even opened because there was just too long between each phase. I ended up sticking it out mostly because of covid completely changing my life.
1 year is a good middle ground. Faster than classic, but not too fast.
I’m not saying you can’t. You just don’t really seem interested in Classic, at all. This includes Vanilla AND BC.
You ONLY seem interested in the Classic Lauch experience, its phase cycles and BC’s equal journey before dipping out. You don’t care about ANY perma state.
The likelihood of a non-seasonal Classic launch to BC is practically non-existentant. You’ll have better luck with a seasonal that only goes through one version of the game and NOT two.
