Greetings Everyone,

I am so excited after the Warcraft Direct today!
Ready to go back to 2019 and do it all again!
-Haven- is looking for like-minded individuals who are focused on enjoying the WoW journey.

I am looking to create a home for folks who tend to focus more on social interaction / community and fun than the rush to endgame and gearing. Raiding will come, Rag will die, but we aren’t in a hurry to game 12-18 hours a day to get there week one. I myself tend to no-life WoW and didn’t really get to “enjoy” the 2019 relaunch, burned out and quit. I’m sure many of you may have had a similar experience.

-Haven- seeks to remedy this experience and grow a true community.

Who might enjoy this guild the most?
Gamers who are easygoing in nature and want to play the game cooperatively, a couple of hours a night after work, maybe more on the weekends.
Think : “questing was fun with you guys! Anyone wanna do Deadmines tomorrow after work around 7?”

Why PVE?
Folks in Haven may favor being able to login and level without being camped by folks who may be putting in many more hours. We will PVP together via BGs etc, we just prefer our PVP to be on an even playing field, not getting ganked at level 20 by a group of level 60s.

Will Haven Raid?
Of course Haven will raid. Our intent will be to clear and farm all content. It’s just that we aren’t going to rush to endgame, or require a crazy amount of consumes/ world buffs/ specific spec etc. While being heavily prepped for raid night will be rewarded, we understand that the content is not very complex in nature and can be downed by playing well and supporting each other. Raid nights may be actual 2-3 hour raid nights instead of 45 mins, but we are enjoying the journey together.

When will we raid MC/Ony?
We will look to start raiding after 3-4 months of leveling and pre-bis gearing. Assuming our average player plays 2-3 hours a night 10-20 hours a week and that level 60 takes 150ish hours to attain, we are looking at 10ish weeks to hit 60 on average

Can I raid on my Ret/Boomy etc?
Absolutely! Will the fury warrior pull 2-3x your DPS? sure. Does it matter? Not really, we are having a good time killing digital monsters :). -Haven- is going to value attendance and trying your best over pure numbers. I’ve seen many times the “pumper dps” get geared and then stop showing up to raids. There will of course be a minimum raiding expectation for “performance” but honestly the game is super easy and as long as you are doing the basics everyone will be happy. The fact that we are enjoying the journey doesn’t mean we can completely slack off. The journey part of raids is a collaborative effort and getting wiped by basic mechanics over and over isn’t fun gameplay.

What if I want to no-life?
You are absolutely welcome to join still. I myself will be no lifing the first day or two as I find that time extremely fun. It just may be easier to find groups with your fellow guildies if you don’t blow past them to 60 early on.

Guild Needs

Discord Admin Urgent need to get a discord up and looking great. I have the shell up and am actively adding, but could certainly use additional help.

Recruiters : Need quite a few folks who want to help grow the guild
Recruitment Lead Looking for one individual who wants to take it a step further and help manage all of our recruitment efforts
Raid Leader Looking for an individual to run our raids / raid schedule / rostering etc. This is a heavy lift and also requires someone with the right patience and temperment.
Assistant Raid Leaders Assist the RL / cover during absences etc.

Hey Spooki, this is a great fit for me, thanks for the post. Once the Discord is up (hopefully you will post the link once it has been created), I will join and may be interested in helping with some leadership roles once we are logged in and rolling!

I missed the og release because I wasnt into the game at the time. I missed 2019 relaunch because I was heavy into retail. This is the universe giving me the chance to experience it. Please allow me to join. Ive never touched classic in any form and Im super interested.

Super stoked for everyone that’s joined so far! We are nearing 20 members already. I’m actually surprised how many like minded folks just wanna chill out and enjoy azeroth together on the way to 60.

It will come down to who’s around once we start raiding MC and what times they all want to do. Certainly open to weekend raiding if thats what fits everyones rl schedule. In 6-8 weeks, once folks are starting to get pretty high in level we’ll collaborate as a guild and start ironing out specific days and times

Not everyone will enjoy Classic at the same rate either.

is being built around the idea of a more casual core of players who want to play through Classic rather than Rush.

The content isn’t going anywhere even if we start a bit “later” than others, the idea is to enjoy our time playing the game.

Pretty stoked on the idea that Spooki has decided to role with.

this sounds exactly like what I am looking for! so excited for a fresh start on a fresh server, would love to join if you would have me, the only thing Is im not 100% sure yet if i want to go warlock or hunter, which ill decide as the time gets closer or if there is one youneed more than the other in the guild.

I just joined the discord. Looking forward to this guild getting up and going. I played during original Vanilla in 2005. I also played again during 2019. The guild I was leader of at that time was very large and we had several raiding teams going into Naxx. I do have two jobs at the moment, both from home, but willing to help out, as needed.

Howdy, I just joined the discord.

Relatively new player compared to most. I missed 2019, I leveled for WOTLK but fell off when the guild died due to drama and a dead server.

Played SOD thru phase 3 but guilds kept falling apart.

Any classes or roles you think you’ll need?

Greets , just resub’d a few days early to post here and say exactly the kind of guild I’d like to join and play next week when launches.

I’m the same as others mentioned , might no life it occasionally when time (wife and kids guy here too) , first few days as launch rush is always fun for me to see everyone , and during holidays as time allows , then continue playing as can here and there.

Will join Discord too but wanted to post here one suggestion as I think your ideas of having folks who want to both enjoy the journey however they want and allow for different playstyles is perfect for a group of folks like us…my ask is that you stick to your ideal for the guild.

During Classic and SOD and relaunches I tried a couple of guilds meant to be the same , but some folks joined who were far too hardcore for original idea of the guild , they would rant in chat about being frustrated at taking X spec to a raid because it wasn’t optimal or folks “goofing off” too much instead of leveling. And to accommodate the guild leaders would almost unintentionally shift an originally friendly casual guild for all to an in-between type that in the end didn’t suit anyone.

Let those folks leave the guild , don’t cater to them , nothing wrong with hardcore , 2nd job parser types , but it seems that’s not your intent for the guild , and I’m just suggesting to you to stick to your original intent for the guild.

Looking forward to green guild chat in game , a holiday season of friendly folks and WoW Classic , between this and the Warcraft Battle Chest allowing a heavy nostalgia dose from the 90’s , this has been a pleasant surprise from Blizzard for me.

(and any raid with Boomkins flapping about is my kind of raid)

We have no plans of this happening.

We are focusing on Community first! We will obviously slay some internet dragons, but above all we want a great community to play Classic WoW with.

Only had a short time to hop in Discord this afternoon but nothing but friendly folks/banter and zero air of toxic/tryhard while still obviously being fans of the game.

Highly recommend for folks looking for truly friendly guild that won’t allow drama nor expect you to 2nd job it.

Joined your discord. I had a really chill fun guild for the first 3 phases of SOD so I’m just looking for that environment. So maybe a good fit.

To second Lyandiel here, we definitely have zero intention of the culture of the guild changing. I think there are plenty of “casual” guilds out there. For Haven we are genuinely trying to create a specific kind of community. Super excited to have you , and also super excited for a WoW classic holiday season!
