I just turned 70 and am trying to figure out where to get primal chaos so I can craft some gear to get into dungeons and raids. BG chests drop 1 or 2 and digging dirt drops them occasionally. Also the PvP weekly world quest offers some. Any other suggestions? Like maybe besides PvP?
The other time-gate thingy “spark of ingenuity” seems to be fairly easy, I already have 2 of those and am getting sequential quests for them, so just wondering about the Chaos.
Dungeons. Higher the keystone, more thatll drop. Id say 1-2 per keystone level is a fairly accurate rule of thumb.

Right but I need to craft gear first to get into even a +2 or +3 key. I’m at like 343. Do I just need to spend a couple of weeks getting WQ gear first?
you can hunt for dig sites for the shovel or go on pack hunts
also get to 359 and que up for lfr raids
Bro I wouldn’t think of it like that. Just shoot your shot in LFG. I have 3 toons Me get gear almost exclusively through m+. 340 is freakin fine for low m+
Or just make your own group. You dont have to ‘lead’ anything, you just invite people.

I only see one pvp quest dropping them right now, it’s a pvp quest. Do other ones have a chance to drop it even if it doesn’t say on the reward?

Primal Chaos drops mostly from instanced content since it’s used to make the crafted gear up to ilvl 418. So the largest source of Primal Chaos is M+ dungeons.
For a fresh character, start with the Primal Invasion gear, which goes up to ilvl 385.
Think VERY carefully and do some research before making anything from Sparks.
You get 5.
Then it’s a long RNG wait for them after that.
There are many “but I didn’t know!” threads from people who blew it with their Sparks. Don’t be one of them.
Agree with above poster. Primal Storms are the way to go. You can get a 389 ring with the introductory Storm’s Fury quests and farm the storms for 2-3 pieces of 385 gear per week. Save the Sparks for what you REALLY need to craft.

I am in game right now, kinda just looking for rares. If you want, I can try to queue us in to a +2 or +3. I heal, so I tend to get picked up pretty quickly. Lemme know if you want some runs.
I did not know that. It seems like any gear above 343 needs sparks to make.
What you do is wait until server reset and valor gets uncapped.
List your +2 key and name is “valor farm, bonus valor” and watch the 3k io people come busting down the door.
Repeat the process 20 times to get valor/primal and a bunch of gear. You can almost just go afk while these sweaty valor farmers play for you.
Once youre comfortable with you ilvl and skills then you can start doing higher keys.

I stop the list here, though you get large amounts in M+ and raids. I just went through figuring all this out, and my best advice is to skip crafting the purple gear util later, and then, just for the skill points. Get gear in Heroic first, then supplement that with World Quest gear. The rewards increase as your ilevel goes up, and will eventually match or exceed the base-line crafted gear. You won’t likely have the Infusions required to make the upgraded versions anyway without high renown or going into end-game So, in essence, the crafted gear is relatively useless.
