Frequent HEAP_CORRUPTION crashes with no addons enabled

Since 11.2, I have been having frequent (more than once per hour, sometimes every few minutes) crashes with the identical error message in the logfile:

Exception: 0xC0000374 (HEAP_CORRUPTION) at 00007ffa2821dc45 0x00007ffa282ce0e0

The exception code and the two addresses following it are always identical.

I disabled all addons, and the crash still happens identically.

I have re-installed WoW.

I have run sfc /scannow.

I have updated Windows and my Nvidia driver. I checked for BIOS or other updates with the OEM.

The computer itself is a high-end Alienware with 64 GB of RAM and plenty of (SSD) disk space. The machine is not running hot, or with high CPU usage.

Disabling addons removes visual elements. It doesn’t prevent their previous interaction/modification of game files.

Go the UI reset route instead.

Back up everything, then do the reset and Cvar reset.

I will try.

If I do

/console cvar_default

and later restore the backed-up WTF folder, will that also restore the cvars?

No, it will not.

So despite “backing everything up” there’s no way to really restore?

What do the config.wtf and config-cache.wtf files (that seem to contain these settings) do then?

Edit2:
The crashing behavior returned, after I re-installed two addons to start rebuilding my UI.

So I emptied the Cache, Interface and WTF folders (again), and did another

/console cvar_default

and restarted.

After playing for a while (and actually, while logging out of the game) I just got an identical HEAP_CORRUPTION crash.

All I did while playing was set my graphics back to high quality.

I too have been getting these since the latest patch.

Same with me. I have removed all addons, deleted the game, and reinstalled the games. Deleted the WTF, interface and Cache folders. Reinstalled the game, updated drivers. I have done everything that has been recommended and my game still crashes on a regular basis. This has only started since 11.2 came out.
