Frequent flight and disconnect bug

I’m not even sure how to describe this but it’s been happening a lot lately. Initially I thought it was just visiting old areas as I’ve read sometimes old phased Dalaran can d/c people, but now it’s happening on every character in old and new content.

I will mount up and go to fly, and suddenly all flight options are unclickable. Usually I just float to the ground, and eventually disconnect, with no option to mount or dismount (they are not clickable). When I reconnect my character is somewhere I was 5-10 minutes prior to the d/c. This has happened on dragonflying mounts, as well as my Demon Hunter using glide and my Evoker just floating down in Dornogal. Sometimes this relogs me as floating in the air above a land mass, sometimes just in a town I was in a long time prior.

It has happened on all of my characters, in every expansion worth of content. I am currently repairing my game using the launcher but I have also reloaded, relogged, restarted, updated everything I can think of, I’ve removed addons… I’m just at a loss and it’s driving me crazy.

Seems similar to the de-syncing I’ve seen, and read a few people complain about.

Don’t know what’s going on, or have a fix, but to workaround it, you need to log out/in.

It can happen out of nowhere and can be hard to spot. Some places can even just not load, leaving your character outside the game world in a DC loop.

At this point, you can only fix this by using the “stuck” service.

I’ve had many characters stuck trying to fly to Ringing Deeps particularly… manually or even on a flight path.

My characters are never stuck, this just happens all over the map constantly on every character. Because of the mount farming event, I’m in old and current content. Logging in and out is what’s already happening, so while I know you said you don’t have a solution, the bug is already causing that so I don’t think it will help the situation unfortunately.

It doesn’t seem to have any threshold because it is not limited to dragonflying, it is not limited to one character, and it is not limited to one area… it’s like a global issue with anything air-born related :frowning:
