Hate to bother CS, but is anyone else freezing when alt-tabbed out of fullscreen? A lot of weird things seem to have started happening ever since the newest Windows Update. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this recently. Thanks for reading!

Six months since 24H2 was rolled out for Win11 but I don’t think we’ve seen many with that correlation.
You may want to edit your post and move it to Technical Support for some more curated assistance.

It does tend to be caused from the latest Windows update. For most threads that I’ve seen, either rolling back the Windows update (don’t think thats possible for you, sounds like you’ve been on it awhile) or disabling Hardware Acceleration in most other running apps helped.
Can check here for the largest thread on the issue.

Again that’s a great question for tech support. And this is why I’m a Mac user. Well that breaks to lol.
I’ve been having this issue myself since Windows 11 Version 24H2 came out. I’ll change windows and then when I come back to World of Warcraft the game is completely frozen.
Pretty sure it’s an issue with Windows 11 as well since this is also happening on my brand new gaming PC I just purchased recently.
I would suggest the same. You are also welcome to ask for Tech Support over on Microsoft’s Tech Support Forum as well. Note though that you need a Microsoft Account to post over there however.
You might check to see if you have game mode enabled on Windows 11. I had the same problem and discovered it was because I had game mode enabled. Basically game mode prioritizes the window that has focus, so when you alt tab from WoW, it diverts resources from it.
My computer was changed back to game mode ON. As soon as I turned it back OFF, it no longer freezes. If it happens, I will come back and edit this post.
That didn’t take long. Instead of the usual freeze, it was the [wait for game to respond] message
Disabling windows MPO in the registry fixed my friends and my alt tab issues completely. The newest windows update just sucks.

started happenning for me since yesterday when I installed Windows 24H2
looks like a sort of video crash because when the game unfreezes all props are gone then start to re-appear in some seconds
I recently got a new computer and this started happening to me as well. I just checked and, yep, I currently have the 24H2 update for Win11.
Would the update also cause random disconnects or game crashes? Over the weekend, I was having problems with another game (Civ6) and was wondering if this latest Windows update is the culprit as well.
