Having the very same issue as all above listed.
Kinda ruins the experience of playing the game, to be honest.

Can confirm having the same issue on quest turn ins, opening chests, or defeating elite enemies on Mechagon and elsewhere.
Game freezes for anywhere from 1-3 seconds.
A temporary fix was found from this forum post.
Blizzard themselves are advising against this fix and suggesting you all just wait for a patch. Just thought you all should know.
Just noticed this happening when leveling my Gnome. Turn in Quest in Dungeon and get 1-2 seconds of lag/freeze. It’s extremely annoying.
Yeah, I’ll follow what they said and revert the changes when the said patch drops.
I am debating whether I should try the “fix” or not. I mean, those settings in that file must be there for a reason…however, IF these load spikes are harming my HDD, then I think I’d rather use the temporary workaround, than have to buy a new HDD.
Blizz better hurry up and fix this.
Same issue here, specifically game freezes for a few milliseconds upon HANDING IN A QUEST, finishing a WQ, or receiving a reward from a bg/dungeon. The occasional blip on some characters for finding a new area or levelling up.
Has not created anymore heat or stress on any parts yet.
Yeah I’m having the same problem. Hopefully they fix soon.
Blizzard somehow couldn’t find the issue during testing and haven’t yet been able to fix it… Still waiting for an explanation as to what that file and the intense disk access on it is supposed to be for.
Still not fixed as of 09/28/2019. Happening on all quests on all areas including WQ, GQ and all other quests that go on. Just freezes. Evything else is fine just only when turning in quests.
I’m having the problem as well, every quest completion freezes the game for 1-2 seconds.
one more update here, as of last night it’s been improved? It seems more like a stutter now in the FPS rather than a full freeze like it was. Still annoying but whatever they’re doing on their end does seem like its improving if not fixing the issue
Adding my name to the list.
Same here. Although I did notice a small difference after the last hotfix. But it only seemed to delay the freeze by like a second or two.
Same here.
Found the following in the Hotfix.log file. I included only the last mob entry but I do believe that this is the source of the lag. Definitely on Blizz side of things.

Same issue
Getting this as well, I was worried my computer was having an issue but I tried it on a second PC and the freezing still happens
Hopefully this will be fixed soon, it’s really annoying with the constant freezes when doing dailies/turning in quests and/or looting “quest” chests/objectives (like the hidden treasures around Nazjatar)
