Freesync and LFC

So I am in the market for a new monitor. With Gsync being really expensive I was looking at the monitors that are Freesync now that it is compatible with Nvidia GPUs. Looking into it I have found that Freesync has a smaller range for Hz often times being 40 or 48 on the low end. When frame rates drop LFC kicks in and compensates for it, there is often what people refer to as a brightness flicker when this happens. WoW can sometimes be erratic for me when it comes to FPS. I can go from 200 FPS if I was in an isolated area to spikey drops in the 30s or 40s when in a raid where tons of stuff is going on or I port into a populated area. While it does not last very long I am concerned that the flicker might be bothersome.

I was just curious if anyone has seen this issue or had any knowledge on this. Thank You ahead of time.

A good freesync monitor is expensive. There are monitors with 55-60hz with the freesync label and not worth the extra cost.

My 1440p Freesync monitor officially supports 40-144hz. I updated it to 30-144hz via CRU without any issues.

Generally, I haven’t had an issue on any of my Gsync or Freesync monitors. The Gsync is stuck at 40-144 though but on most of my setups I only go down to 30fps in TM.

Ok, yeah I found one that had really great reviews from Hardware Unboxed, AOC monitor. I think its lower end is 48, which is fine most of the time, I am just concerned about that potential brightness flicker.
