Freehold - Can't interrupt Sea Spout

So far the only two changes I’ve noticed to Freehold is they made it so you can’t interrupt the the Irontides Sea Spout, forcing more dance dance, and the trinket doesn’t drop like it used to. ( Well, and the RP with the dog )

So as far Sea Spout goes…

Why?

Is it a bug or you just felt it was wrong that we could avoid some of the dance dance with a simple interrupt?

Stack and move.

I know how to deal with it. Im asking if they changed this intentionally or not…

WoWHead guide still had it listed as an essential interrupt. No idea of that’s just copy pasta and the change was overlooked on their part, or the change was intentional.

If it’s intentional just mind boggling that someone decided it needed to happen and changed it.

Just move.

Jesus christ.

I’m not standing in it in protest.

The dog is not always there, but i didnt see you had to talk to the one guy to drink

This was one of a few changes that came across the PTR that caught my eye. Some of the stuff we used to interrupt aren’t capable anymore.
They also changed the totems in UR around that time iirc.

Don’t recall Shattering Bellows being such a game stopper either.

Guess they couldn’t help themselves from making things irritating.

Sea spout was never an ability you could interrupt. There is a huge amount of things that just delete you with a single stack of bolstering.

Knife throw, whirlwind, and blind rage can stack up to just one shot you. Add in mobs being able to death grip you into the pile makes it too much at times.

Yes you could… I mean I have a crappy memory and I remember that.

Wowhead guide still lists it as priority interrupt.

Interrupt the Sea Spout from Irontide Oarsman, this ground effect will turn lethal on the higher-end keys.

I don’t ever remember not dodging it.

Maybe I ran with terrible pugs every one of the times did it who never purchased their interrupts from the trainer.

Ya, it was priority back in BfA because it would force people to pull adds to avoid it.

Or just kill you in tight spaces.

And that trinket is looking to be an issue.

At 4 bracers and 4 pants and have yet to see a trinket drop for anyone. Blizz really seems infatuated with making trinkets a time gated lottery last two expansions.

Considering how impactful they are it becomes a balance issue.

So much this. I mean, don’t they want players to get to USE those interrupt abilities they need to pay talent points for now? What happened to being oh-so interrupt happy last season? :woman_shrugging:

My first +12 FH I did, I was charged the second a spout appeared under me. The short stun was enough to guarantee the spout hit me, and I was essentially 1-shot from max health. The charge may have done damage, but again, effectively I was killed without any chance for counterplay.

I really do hope some of these things change. I’m ok with things being harder, but…you need counterplay for 1-shot mechanics. I suppose stunning them may work? I’ll need to give it a try next run; although as a shaman my only instant-CC outside of an interrupt is thunderstorm’s knockup.

Unless I’m thinking of a different blue swirly. :x

Wait till you get to see the full glory of shattering bellows on fortified. Which might have also been interruptible at one point. At least wowhead recommends interrupting one of the mobs that casts it.

They really put some work into making this once great dungeon not as great.

Yeah I hate getting interrupted out of nowhere. Realized recently what to look for, but that’s just the start.
