Why did people without an active Blizzard account get to play free for 4 days? I’ve had an active sub since 2005 and during that “free” weekend I still had to pay. What the heck

I’m a paying subscriber and I’m not whining about it. The free week isn’t for me, and I don’t care. I get to farm whatever I want whenever I want because I pay. These folk don’t. It’s a chance to see if they want to come back. Unlike OP, I don’t beg for handouts.

Guy they give free week ends every few months. Most of the time you would only find out if you checked your emails. It is a bid to get former players to play again. I have had more than a few free weekends when I had to let my game time slip for whatever reasoning. This is just one of the few times they made a 'commercial blurb" about it.

Right? It’s sad. These days people really weren’t taught how to appreciate things or something, I guess. Neither that nor logic. It’s plain and simple why this promo happens, there’s promos for subscribers like being on when an anniversary event occurs or something.

Exactly. We’re playing and we already get nifty things that non subscribers don’t get because we pay. They’re not gonna do this during a special event. They want people to come back and pay money, not log on, get the shiny and log off.
Its why Allied races are Level 20. No playing an allied race if you don’t pay~

That weekend wasn’t for the paying subscribers; it was an attempt to renew Old Subs and attract New Ones.

Log in during the year anniversaries of the games launch. You tend to get stuff to use in game be it a toy, a pet, etc. it has varied from year to year. Also nifty gear is located in most raids, or at pvp vendors, granted like mounts and so on you may have to actually play the game to get said nifty things.
I’m not even a quarter of the way. I’m too casual lol I just want me a dino. I wish they’d release one that wasn’t super nifty auction-housey. Just give me a brutosaur. Even if its smaller.
