I think the level cap for free play should be increased from 20 to 60
this way players can experience all of the old content but none of the current expansion
what do you think?

Honestly I agree. If the goal of a trial account is to get the player hooked enough to sub, you need to give them longer than level 20. I’d wager that takes between 1-2 hours even for a total novice, at worst.

It wouldn’t be a matter of jumping levels. A F2P player would level normally (albeit without certain things) to a cap like 40,50,60 and then be unable to progress without buying into the game.
IDK about 60 myself but 20 is way too low to get a feel for WoW. FFXIV’s trial goes through Stormblood.

yeah 60 is fine , they can level through all of bfa through chromie time and get a taste of what retail wow is these days before spending their money

FFXIV’s trial has a big limitation that WOW doesn’t. With WOW, if your account runs out of game time, you can still access the low level characters. With FFXIV, once you buy the game, you have to subscribe or you can’t access the game at all. The trial is completely separate from the full game.

My point is it gives you enough time to decide if you are invested in the game or not. If we want to get into weird limitations of FFXIV in general that’s a separate conversation (it has so many, even for subbed players)

Sure, anyone that cares is weird or trolling TBH. 90% of retail is worthless old content (almost like a landfill.) Absolutely nothing matters. Just keep the ah restrictions etc.

People complain about free to play at the same time complain about long queues for leveling dungeons.
I’d love free to play players in love level dungeons to help with the queues.

Transmog is meh. I get it some like that. So I give you that.
Mounts are debatable now with dragonriding. (Added to the landfill.)
I’ll take that back if they update the old flying mounts with dragonriding but they aren’t going to.

I say level 31, just so they actually get a taste of flying.
Could spark more interest, and make it an easier push to buy the game.
