Sadly, this won’t even help their cause.

There’s definitely an activity cutoff somewhere (unless they are rolling out to all inactives over time).
My 2nd battlenet account that been inactive since mid Sept 2018 got the boost. But my main account (this one) that’s been inactive since 8.2 released didn’t get it.
Bummer too. I would have thrown time back on this main one if it had the boost.
EDIT:
Interestingly, it seems battlenet account based.
Main battlenet account (didn’t get the boost) - two WoW licenses:
- Main - inactive since 8.2
- Alternate - inactive since Oct 2018
2nd battlenet account (got the boost) - one WoW license:
- Main - inactive since Sept 2018
Only my second battlenet account got the boost, despite my main battlenet account having a WoW license that’s been inactive for about the same amount of time. Dang! So close to getting me back into the game
I personally would have loved an alt starting at 100. Too much hassle for me to bother with an alt without some kind of boost.
What are yall talking about?
Same.
When my time ran out, I was in the middle of collecting all the Legion class mounts, meaning I had a handful of classes to level from scratch. With only two left, the boost would have helped a ton, but alas, my main account didn’t get it.
Accounts that have been inactive for a while are receiving a free character boost as a gift from Bliz.
Dang I just resubbed after a year and a half off… Where’s my level boost!?
They’ve always given incentives to try and get folks to resub.
Don’t recall them giving out level boosts but it doesn’t matter. If you’ve been playing conaistently soncr laubch of BFA I’d find it hars to believe that you don’t already have most of your alrs levelled, if you’re the kind of player that even cares about alts.
I wonder if this actually works. I feel like most people quit because of the max level content so I’m not sure having a boosted character would cause people to come rushing back considering they would just be coming back to the same shallow gameplay.
It probably works for a small boost. Not uncommon for people to come back for short stint of new content. Even if they only sub one month, that’s one month Blizz otherwise didnt have from them and it cost them nothing.
cuz sub levels are sucking hard. This last content patch didn’t get as big a sub boost as bliz hoped and tons of the new subs bailed after seeing the grind
Its funny you mention cable companies.
They are the most likely to comply. Ive called them a few times because I saw lower prices else where, or to reduce the amount of services. Then they just cut down the rate.
That does not work for most companies, but cable companies seem to be the ones you should barter with.
Especially if you are a long time customer who pays on time, calling to reduce services.
I have an account that hasn’t been subbed for more than six months and I haven’t gotten it. And there are players who have been subbed all throughout who got it - so who knows.
Where is this free boost you talking about?
Check your Gifts in the launcher or the battlenet website.
I don’t believe you.
Cant find the gift tab Kill me now
On the website or launcher? Or both?
I am going to have to give this a try.
Our bill is insane because we have a phone we rarely use and tv service that we have yet to turn on just to get a deal on internet.
I tried canceling the other two and just getting internet and they said my bill would go up about $30.
Same here. I just subbed back after that free weekend thing.
