Alright, so you should have the Geforce app on your computer, if you don’t you can go to the website and fill in your Graphics card type. It will let you know if you have any drivers that need to be updated and will update it for you.
Dang, how often does NVIDIA release new updates for drivers? I just downloaded one from the app last week lol. Well, I hope this new update from the 10th fixes my issue.
You just need Device Manager - that’s all those programs do anyway.
I took advantage of the 7 day free trial of CCleaner to do it though, cause I needed to do something else with it (cant remember what, but it was something I was too lazy to do manually lol)
I get a new update notification pretty much every week lol. AFAIK this is not the most recent graphics card too, which surprises me.
mah keys…
It depends, sometimes it’s often, and other times it’s like a week or two. I try to check every week, but usually end up doing it when my computer pings me saying there are updates waiting. Also whenever games have updates, there are also usually driver updates to go along with it not long after.

This is a pain that I can’t just update them with windows 11…
There are only 2 places where you should acquire updated drivers. Microsoft and the hardware manufacturer.
I use CCleaner, but I pay for it, and it cleans the registry, and other features.
I think Driver Booster has a limited free version.

This certainly makes sense. I’ll have to check the GeForce app more often.

On average… monthly. They have their own driver manager called gforce experience.

There was an update for your very card last week.
I know because I have the same card, just the SUPER version.
And I actually just read that you updated it last week. Oops.
Yeah, I have the app. Sometimes I get a download error using the driver updater on the app, so I am downloading it straight from their website.
Yeah if you have a list of the ones you need to update, just google each one and get the site that has the new drivers.
Most companies offer an .exe that will do all the work for you.
Or save the driver in your downloads file, and when you go into device manager, choose “browse for location”, and choose the downloads file. Windows will do the rest.
I will certainly keep that in mind for the future.

Don’t worry, like I said, I sometimes slack on downloading updates. In my family, we always joke when one of our computers is messing up asking if drivers are updated.
Ok, it has been installed. I’ll assume I should now restart my computer to get it working properly lol?

My issue is that WoW has been experiencing lots of stutters and severe fps drops so bad that the game is unplayable. I flushed my dns, renewed my ip, reset my network/router and nothing is working so I was told drivers can be outdated.
This isn’t on your end, so much as it is on Blizzard’s. There’s posts all over in CS about it. Other than something like a graphics driver through Nvidia (which will notify you of updates) and your own Windows’ updates, I wouldn’t advise trusting something like what you’ve talked about here.
Yeah, to get driver updates to work, you have to restart. Think of it like when Windows or Mac OS updates and it needs to restart. A simple restart will install the drivers. Will it fix the studdering and such issues? I hope, but prepatch is also known for issues like that while Blizz works on optimizing the game so don’t worry if it still does it. And it could be fixed to day and be messed up tomorrow since we’re getting the 2nd part of prepatch.
