Acourding to IronForge, Netherwind (USE) population have shrunk one quarter after the free transfers announcement. How can I proceed to make the same without having to pay for a problem that was created by the staff?

Yep we’re under 1500 now, iirc Bloodsail Buccaneers was the biggest server to miss the cutoff for transfers and we’re now almost 400 people lower than them. I’m sure we won’t get a response until next week at the earliest though.

So Now that Netherwind has been a DESTINATION for free transfers and has DROPPED from a population of 1,950 to 1,448 in a week can we PLEASE qualify for free transfers to somewhere where it’s possible to actually find people to run a 5 man dungeon?

A few questions:

Where can I apply for a refund for character transfer fees for all the characters I transferred from these servers, since my transfers were made long after they would have been eligible for transfer (e.g., since “Low” pop was the criteria here)?

Is this still active (hopefully), by chance? My family and I moved on and made new characters on the Whitemane server when Heartseeker started to die out and haven’t been back since.
I had no idea that there were free transfers for Heartseeker. I had read blue post a few weeks back, but it didn’t have Heartseeker included. It was obviously since revised.
I only came across this blue post again while searching for DDOS posts (attack going on right now).
Please consider making the free realm transfers active again? Me and my fam sure would appreciate it, and perhaps many other peeps that missed out? Thank you.
we need free transfers to get off unbalanced servers. If people are going to dogpile one faction on a server, then the underdogs shouldn’t be left to rot.
Once a server reaches 75/25 dominance the underdog will largely quit.

The real joke is that we’re humoring Blizzard for charging money on something that’s automated and happens instantly. Why do realm transfers cost any money to begin with other than Blizzard likes money?
Blizzard, lets be real here. Your subscription model is failing and majority of your customers hate you for various reasons. Realm transfers shouldn’t have a fee, but just a cool down. The people quitting WoW are actually quitting the subscription fee. You may want to consider reducing the monthly fee for those who play classic. Your short term profits aren’t worth it over long term customer satisfaction.

anyone know if this will be temporary or will free xfer remain forever for these servers?
I think I will quit until, free transfers between severs, is just a agreedy thing for blizzard to stop doing the free transfers on an old game,im in netherwing an is lit empty now, most of the rinding guilds transferred to benediction, I mean they want to keep the old fashion style, but honestly, players do not know what they want, time have change and players are constantly changing of games, free transfers should solve a problem or 2, dual spec on TBC will be wonders for all those persons that like this game but dont have enougth time to farm
better rewards for doing heroics, real stuff I dunno a flask or 2 if you do it on timer
LFG between servers should be awsome
but I dunno I just like the game but is anoying to have problems with the servers population, seems to be a easy problem to solve with admin rights
an Idea I had was to merge low population servers into 1to have balanced the problem with alliance and horde.

is not blizzard problem, never pay for a transfer in a game that is dying for bad management,eventually they will do extreme changes like this one to keep players playing,I will just stop my subscription on my Netherwin server as is a really low population server, even if it was a destination to free transfers, in 1 week we had lost around 500 players , 25 dolar each, is what blizzard is getting, but in change of to much hate and they do not really care , they just need money and want to sell us something that is old and not longer reliable, there is to much compentence to have the sames rules as they had in their Golden times, they must acept that before to do any changes.

Several things are happening and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
IFpro shows TBC to be on track to be below 300k loggers in a couple of weeks. Yes this may just be ‘loggers’ but according to every random here, this is the “raid log expansion” so this should be an accurate measurement of players. In other words, people are quitting left, right, and center.
More and more realms are snowballing into a death spiral. Alliance on faerelina and whitemane are next to go and horde benediction appears to have finally given up. Thunderfury alliance also has given in. These ~10k people will make blizzard tons of money this quarter and many will surely quit. This is with less and less people coming back with each phase.
SOM is also booming despite the changes, hilariously enough. Perhaps the dev team has released that the ‘no changes’ idiots were after all just a vocal minority.
With any luck, all of this will maybe lead us to a wow+ with changes. I doubt anything will happen until after wrath, but I don’t know if enough people will stick around until then to make it worth while financially

How about you limit faction populations on servers also to Let’s say 10k? Look at benediction all the horde are going to leave. I guess this is part of the money making scheme. Allow free xfers so that the imbalance creates paid transfers. Why not just connect servers like a high pop horde and high pop ally server with low pop of the opposing factions.

Bingo they noticed xfers slowed down and to stimulate more money they let all the dead servers have a freebie. They want more people from the med/high pop servers to pay for a move.
