So how do we actually transfer?
Select your character, then click the Shop icon in the lower left corner of the character select screen, should be self-explanatory from there.
You should close alliance transfers to Heartseeker and horde transfers to Earthfury to help balance out the populations on both.
My experience transfering to Heartseeker: I log in and start questing on my 55 horde rogue. There are 2 horde in the town and around 20 alliance. They gank us and camp us, but not always the same ally, as some have come and gone and there’s always 3-4x the amount of horde. Okay, 15 minutes gone. I get out of town and kill two mobs, then get ganked and camped by two alliance pugs in the zone I’m in. Fine, I run back. A different group of ally are there now, so i figure I’ll run to another spawn point. Nope, 3x the ally there too. Spawn camped. 40 more minutes gone. Okay, I’ll make BRD exp groups instead - cant get camped then! From the 3 Horde that are online, I manage to get a group going - naturally, everyone is around the world and makes the 7 minute trip to T. Point. Where there is 20-30 alliance, 3 horde. Spawn camped. It takes around 7 death runs to make it to BRD as a rogue. 3 groups members just log because they’ve been stuck in T. Point for 30 minutes and cant even hearth out. Fine. I recruit three more and they fly in. 30 minutes later, they make it to BRD. At that point the tank proceeds to body pull and wipe the group, which catalyzed the healer to apparently pst them critique, so the tank leaves the group and ignores every member. The healer, stuck in a wall, states “going to the gym” and dces after the tank tells the group. Okay. I get a new healer and tank, 40 minutes later they’ve made it to BRD after 8 death runs. They state we are doing these bosses only, then exploit glitching to spam a boss… so I /camp.
I now realize I should have listened to multiple friends that made the switch; after a few days of this story happening over and over to me and many people I’ve spoken to on the server, I’ve left my 55 and rerolled on a new server. There is no other option, no mitigation plans offered by Blizzard. Without more comprehensive means of addressing these issues on severely imba realms, there will be reduction in the playerbase that negatively impacts Blizzard, the players, and WoW Classic. There should be offical population data provided since faction balance is vital in Classic, paid character transfers (which were in vanilla), or grace periods to reverse a FCM.
tl;dr Dont transfer to Heartseeker as Horde. Server balance is a key element to healthy servers and enjoyable game play. Without mitigation plans by Blizz, its going to be rough.
The ONLY way that balance is achieved right now is if the Horde on all these Horde heavy servers DO transfer to Heartseeker.
The opposite of what you said needs to happen. The Horde MUST transfer if some semblance of balance is to be obtained.
I agree, that is what must happen. But it hasn’t as of yet, and likely will not. What does this cause? You just lost your toon and time. Myself and a multitude of others that transfered severely regret it. It isnt a huge sample, but I’ve spoken with about 15 people on Heartseeker about it and the majority have the same experience.
Unstickied? Please tell us if you have any plans to address the faction balance on PvP servers. It wasn’t until yesterday that it really hit us on Skeram just how many have transferred off. My guild is going to discuss transferring today but with our luck, the transfers will close and we’ll be stuck on an 80/20 Horde server with nothing being done about it.
Thanks <3 appreciated
Blizzard needs put some more incentive on those Horde Heavy servers to xfer.
And Arcanite reaper need’s more please
I get it - just know where I want to go and re-rolling was harsh af.
Heartseeker is essentially alliance life raft and blizzard messed up real bad. I’m not even renewing my sub dude considering all the time I’d have to reinvest.
I feel the same. Its such a terrible situation for everyone stuck in it. We’ve waited so long for this, and the game itself is solid. But Blizzard ignoring this is crushing. I spoke with two GMs yesterday about it, they stated there is no mitigation plan, and that there will be no paid transfers or other wise because #nochanges. They wanted the release ‘as close to the original conditions as possible.’ Which I wholeheartedly agree with, but isn’t the truth - we launched with patch 1.12 and far fewer servers for the player base. Paid CT were implemented toward the end of vanilla for extra revenue and to assist servers that had population issues. Which is what we are experiencing now due to limited communication from Blizzard on anything. Even a ratio of A:H for the servers would help, they can keep the population values to themselves… The options given were: just reroll. 200 hours is extremely valuable to me and to most, and I feel it keenly while releveling.
The offical line that I got was: whelp, sucks to suck, nerd. It’s quite disheartening.
I remember transferring from healthy realms to other healthy realms in vanilla to for guild reasons–seems like paid character transfer are compatible with #nochanges to me…
If you are horde, transfer to heartseeker while you still can. It will be your only opportunity for pvp in phase 2. Stalagg/Skeram/kiritonos are dead for pvp now, no one to fight.
blizzard is an absolute disgrace. They single handedly killed majority of the player population with their own mistakes
I talked to a GM as well and he/she said they don’t know if paid CT’s were coming but personally they hoped for them to be thing and if I really want it to happen do the suggestion thingy in game since it goes to developers or whatever and not GM’s. So if anyone wants this to happen please write a suggestion in the ? menu
Just reroll a new toon on a new server
I have, but 200 hours of time is extremely valuable to me from a personal and professional perspective. This will be my third server since the only option is reroll I’d like to have an opportunity to move that character to a playable realm, back to the initial realm, or for Blizzard to provide offical active player splits by realm so others dont encounter this as well.
That’s fair enough I’ve made characters on about six different servers now, none maxed, but I’m trying to get a feel for each one. It’s hard choosing. It’s really hard to artificially enforce population balance without creating more problems and I wish the community would try and be part of the solution instead of rushing on to server with a dominant faction and making it even worse.
If you’re looking for a balanced server, the only one I’ve found so far (with a high pop) really is Faerlina. It says slightly alliance favored but I feel as though it’s slightly Horde dominant. So if you can get past the streamers it’s actually a really nice realm
I started on Faer and would pay anything to go back. Its feels really well balanced, the pop is great, and every player I engaged with was pretty solid over all. I don’t really know anything about streamers, but I don’t think I ever ran into any. Im concerned about P2 on Faer without layers though, that’s why I switched. Thanks for the feedback though
