The server has felt fine for me, but I can’t speak for everyone. My problem with this decision is that it lacks a significant amount of context to address the obvious questions and concerns. Questions like:
-
Is this going to happen to any other server? Chaos Bolt is far from the only small server, and isn’t even the smallest one by available metrics.
-
Why lock the server? This turns the “choice” here into an inevitability. CB will slowly die since no one can join it.
-
Why only provide Crusader Strike as an option? I think it’s no secret that every server is full of players who picked their place by necessity during the initial launch rush, but the cultures of CS and CB are clearly different given the heavy streamer presence in early P1. Why not present Wild Growth for example as an option for transfer?
-
What happens to players who already have opposing faction characters on CS? Are these players just hosed? Do they have to abandon characters?
These questions all deserve a clearer picture of the dev’s intentions for this change. Please don’t release short-form notices on this without clarification.

Transfers are fine. Leave if you want, to LOCK the server with the intention to kill it to the existing community who wishes to stay is the WRONG move.
I’m willing to say at least 80% of the current population had no intentions on leaving or they would have dipped already.
What about the server Penance? There’s not even 10 people in Ironforge right now. Yet its open to create?
i hate to tell u this but if u havent seen the thread you are the vocal minority

Sure, I agree locking the server is a weird move and unnecessary, not sure what their goal there was.
The vocal minority is all over this thread. The silent majority is gleefully transferring off

This is a terrible move. People picked CB precisely to avoid the community and experience on CS. Absolutely disappointing behavior from a company that once again proves it’s incapable of making smart decisions or respecting its players.

I’m not sure if you understand what vocal minority means.

Yeah? Have you seen LFG chat or city chat? I see almost nobody liking this. So maybe the majority is just being silent but I don’t buy that. There’d be more people pushing back against the complaining.
Coming back to the thread for updates on this.
Staying to lap up the tears of dead server enjoyers

i dont think u understand what minority means. Are you in the Chaos Bolt discord? Have you been on Chaos Bolt today? have you seen this forum? i assume no to all three becuase if you are using your eyes you can see on all 3 of these outlets that its not a minority that isnt happy

Mega servers are not classic.
“We value community” pure lip service. Blizzard constantly sabotaging itself like a relapsing addict after earning their sobriety coin. Weak, embarrassing, shameful.

You already rerolled like you said so go enjoy your new server then.
Radio silence, the classic.

I moved a test alt and couldn’t log in due to bug, being addressed by devs currently. Eagerly awaiting updates!

That’s how a vocal minority works bud. You think it’s the majority because they’re the only ones speaking out. The silent majority that are happy with things are just that… silent. Why would we be on discord or in Trade/LFG broadcasting how happy we are.

I mean again, I’m seeing nobody saying yay. I’m in the largest guild on alliance side and EVERYONE is pissed. So I don’t think you have any idea who the majority or minority is.

Absolutley disgusting decision from blizz.
Of course the majority is who ever agrees with them! /s
yea but its not a minority. you have some perception that that the people that are happy arent speaking which just isnt true. 90% of this server does not like this decision and if u go to any of the outlets you can see that. Or you can pretend that there is this large group of people that just arent speaking up
